A long-term observation from 1977-1980, focusing on the apprentice Gerd and his family. Gerd wants to become an electrician, but after several rejections he accepts an apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Ford. In the first two years he works in an apprentice workshop, in the third year he has to go into production; from now on he is under a lot of pressure, because the company keeps the decision as to whether to take on an apprentice as a normal employee open until the last moment. When Gerd talks about the apprenticeship at home and criticizes the training, his parents reprimand him. They say: You'd better put something away! He shouldn't stand out in the company. The work of a lathe operator is increasingly being taken over by automatic machines. Gerd realizes that he is learning a trade that no one will need any more soon.

Even if you watch it all day long, the human eye cannot see the movement of the clouds. In that sense, it can be said that interval shooting in movies has expanded human vision itself. Just as the invention of photography captures momentary movement, cinema presents a world that seems to compress real time. Interval shooting is normally used only in science films and the like. In this work, such changes were captured at intervals of a few seconds, rather than frame-by-frame. Without a timer or anything, I set the camera on a tripod in my room, sat down on a chair beside me, and pressed the release bit by bit, entirely manually from before dawn until the sun went down.

Commentary on Japanese internment during World War II.

Natalia LL carried out the seance Points of Support, during which she performed nude gymnastics combined with choreography on a meadow in the Pieniny National Park. Each of the figures that her body adopted corresponded to a certain stellar constellation, thus building a bridge between the woman and the universe.

The story of a folktale character is told through his son, who takes after him, and makes it clear that junior is better than senior.

Homecomin' is based on a true story of the coming together of a father and his son after a year-long separation. The strain caused by the separation is indicated by the resentment of the mother towards the father, and the son's initial distrust of his father's surprise return. This distrust, however, erodes as father, son, and one of his father's running buddies bicycle across the Brooklyn Bridge to Coney Island.

Track is a structural film, exploring interactive relationships between the subject matter (a train journey through orchard country in Kent) and a systemised, serial mediation process. The latter comprises a range of cyclic panning and tilting actions, which relate and respond to the actual movements of the carriages and perceived movements of windows and landscapes, inside and outside the train. This palette of repeating actions was then choreographed into a seamless continuum inspired by the natural rhythms encountered during the journey. The film is designed to be viewed in a stretched, anamorphic format to draw the material away from conventional representation towards kinaesthetic abstraction.

After his father passes away, Xuma heads for the city in search of work to be able to support his family back home. Here, he is introduced to Stella, a middle-aged woman who runs an illegal shabeen and who offers him a place to stay after he finds employment at a nearby mining plant. Xuma is introduced to Stella's niece, Pinkie, and the pair hit it off almost immediately. But when Pienkie falls pregnant and tragically dies during the complicated procedure of having an abortion, Xuma is shattered. Blaming himself for her death, he decides to leave the city and return home to his family instead.

A friend's face illuminated by a bare bulb. A breakfast table. A woman taking a photograph. A woman's face as she smokes a cigarette. A woman in a nightgown. A dinner table at night. A scene from a car window. A naked woman tying her hair in front of a mirror. A woman frolicking in the sea. A woman drinking alcohol at night... As the title suggests, this work is made up of fragments of images that the artist took with his camera from time to time during this period. The material is limited to the artist's surroundings and the people around him, and the people are aware that they are being filmed, looking at the camera or smiling at the camera... In other words, they are looking at the artist behind the camera or smiling at the artist. The film records the gaze of the artist as well as the gaze directed at the artist. This is a valuable work that makes full use of the advantages of 8mm home movies.
