In a small village, unexplained phenomena occur. After the passage of Jesus, a blind man recovers his sight and a little girl comes back to life. Faced with these misunderstandings, the Grand Inquisitor wishes to have Jesus arrested, convinced that his presence disturbs the order of the world. A face-to-face confrontation between the two men of God looms.

Coming out of a persistent dream, it is difficult to be in reality right away. For the sleeper who is then awake, the sounds, the shapes continue to play a show: where is he and how can he know?

Fotomatar is a french-spanish word more or less made up, which makes us think of a "phot-booth" (photomaton) and hesitate between "mater" ("mater" is a french slang word for "to look at") and matar (which means "to kill" in spanish). This film plays with narrativity. It's also a film about duration, about appearance of color (rather creepy), about suspense - a concerto for polaroïd triggers and horror scream. An experimental thriller.

The two old men still fight over Ms. Jo even after they get older, and the sons of the two old people compete in good faith for Ms. Jo's daughter, Lira. However, the two sons, who are extremely filial, give up their love fight and support their respective fathers. The two old men, who know the filial piety of their children, rather support their children. As a result, the friendship between the two old men, which has been going on for half a lifetime, deepens.

In a motel room a TV plays the live broadcast of an eclipse. In the background, out the window, the street scene is dingy and dark. On the TV the eclipse passes. Outside, the street brightens slightly. Part landscape and documentary, Eclipse illuminates the improvisational nature where chance meets design and creates a great moment.

The donkey laughs at the zebra and giraffe because of their patterned skins. He tells them that they are wearing pajamas. In the end, he laughs at the tiger, but loses his skin.

Students Lilly Grote, Irina Hoppe and Christine Domkowski took turns at doing the camerawork, sound and editing, supported by film editing lecturer Heide Breitel. [...] Lilly Grote’s film Beobachtungen auf Station 33 was made at the Urban-Krankenhaus hospital in Kreuzberg and doesn’t follow an individual person but rather the patients and nurses there during their everyday work. This film is a good example of 'wrong' picture/sound juxtapositions. Uncanny collisions and combinations of sound and picture make this film one of my favorite films that I have made. –H. M.
