This film examines two parallel German lives: that of a Nazi general who continued in his job during the democratic era and a communist bricklayer who could hardly make ends meet after the war. Both had fought in the Spanish Civil War, but their stories can’t be merged; the audience gazes into a wound that will not heal.

The Bauls of West Bengal are nomad musicians who practice a traditional form of concert challenged by the increasing modernization of India. The term "Fous" here refers to those inspired and wandering musicians of Bengal known as Baül. The word Baül is derived from the Sanskrit word "vatul," which means "mad" in the sense that it commonly connotes a more or less frenetic behavior in French. The Baül are peculiar individuals, particularly in their mannerisms, customs, and practices. Although they may belong to either the Hindu or Muslim religion, the Baül refuse to be guided by any social or religious conventions. Freedom of spirit is their only guide. They thus move against the tide of habits, preconceived notions, and general theories. "Le chant des fous" (The Song of the Mad) is a film made by Georges Luneau.

The procedure of separating and extracting certain aspects of a scene by adjusting the focus of a series of frames in succession according to various organizational patterns is developed in Retour d'un repère. While the filmic operations are structured in relation to a limited space (a branch over a 19c duck pond), the filmic process rests on a visual transformation of a pantoun, a verse form borrowed from literary rhetorics, which characteristically transforms itself gradually and continuously in a precise manner. - Lightcone

The arduous lifestyle of a traveling tent circus often contradicts the romantic notion of “running away with a circus.” This film documents the daily routines of the small, family-owned Franzen Bros. Circus. While focusing on those aspects of the circus that are not generally accessible to the circus audience, 'Cotton Candy and Elephant Stuff' captures the magic and the routine of circus life.

The 1979 Berlin Jazz Festival was a showcase for the international jazz elite—and right in the middle of it all was Lionel Hampton. The vibraphone virtuoso and entertainer thrilled audiences with his explosive mix of swing, blues, and showmanship. His performance was one of the highlights of the renowned festival, which has made Berlin a jazz metropolis since the 1960s. A historic concert moment.
