A poet of forty wanders about the beach, changes his clothes when he feels like it, reads his poetry, reminisces engagingly, and reflects on life. Looking rather like Max Bygraves gone to seed, he keeps up a patter full of original jokes, interspersed with powerful verse about life and death.

“This film doesn’t get anywhere…just like adolescence. The hair comes off, the hair goes on, the hairdresser moves this way and that, the music comes on again and again, Kathy and Steve do and don’t break up, it’s all true, it’s all a lie. I want people to be as free as possible when they watch it…” –Marjorie Keller

The film was produced and released under the term of chairman Mao Zedong when the cultural revolution was still ongoing. The plot backdrop is based on the National Revolutionary Army's 8th Route Army division, when it was under the control of Communist Party of China instead of the opposing Kuomintang. Despite numerous movie adaptations, this is the only animation piece ever produced on the subject. A story book was also released as a companion to the film.

On a trip around Finland with seasoned travel photographer Axel Hald-Christensen. The trip starts on board the ferry Finlandia. On the way, the travel photographer and his travel companions pass Lahti, Mikkeli and Savonlinna, where he films sights such as Olavinlinna (Olofsborg) and the Kerimaki Church. Along the way, they stay overnight at campsites and both sail and swim in the many lakes and rivers. The landscape is characterized by forest and water. The trip also passes Helsinki and the various sights that the capital offers: the iconic station building, the market square, open-air theater and folk dancing in Finnish folk costumes. In addition, there are also recordings from, among other places, the Temple Square Church and the statue of Johan Ludvig Runeberg, who is considered Finland's national poet. Finally, the trip heads home again with Finlandia.

Since Peter lives alone as a confirmed bachelor, Lis thinks of a ruse. She claims to be pregnant, but to have long since left the father of the unborn child. Georg, who wants to run for mayor in the next election, could cost his almost secure position with an illegitimate child in the family. Lis convinces him that one of his best friends should be willing to marry her for a contractually agreed short period of time and then divorce her again after the child is born. She suggests Peter, of whom she has a portrait, to whom she talks secretly. Georg persuades Peter to marry Lis and he stands by his friend ...
