Filmed in part at a 1964 show of Conner's artwork in San Francisco, the film is also a witty statement about forces that take the life out of art. "...has the quiet beauty of rain. It is the story of a young girl afraid to enter womanhood. Taking the phone off the hook, she attempts to sleep while her would-be lover tries to call. And in her fantasy, she sees herself escaping to the playground and embracing childhood anew...perhaps the most quietly satisfying gem that you will see in a long time...contrasts with the sexual vibrance of the tones' singing with the lonely quiet of the girl's flight with remarkable effectiveness."–Bruce Covert, McGill Daily Review [Overview Selection Courtesy of The Film-Makers' Cooperative]

The film tells the story of people of a unique profession - rafters, or bokorash, as they were called in Zakarpattia, who floated timber down the Cheremosh River from the peaks to the valley. This profession came to an end in the early 1970s, and half a century later, the film is an invaluable testament to the history of the Carpathian region.

An animated parable directed by Leonard Pulchny was made in a combined technique. Pulchny uses collages, engravings, drawings and he contrasts green and red colour. The style and theme of the film refers to Jan Lenica’s "Maze". According to Erich Fromm’s "Escape from Freedom", the protagonist asks to cut off his wings because he notices the emotions he evokes in society. The film is a metaphor of the political situation in the Polish People’s Republic in 1960.

Old vaudeville jugglers phllicly toss Chromium pins in contrast to voyeuristic vignettes of black laced, high heeled women boxers and culminating in a hilarious chorus line of 1946 "banana girls" singing in deep-deep voices "all about love".' –I.
