Xin Liangxiang lost his job and fell into poverty. One day, his wife fell ill, and Xiang stole milk to feed his young child. He was caught by a fat policeman, who fortunately let him off the hook. Later, Xiang, at Jia De's instigation, tried to swindle a jewelry store owner. After the scheme failed, he was arrested again by the fat policeman and sentenced to three months in prison. The fat policeman promised to take care of his family, for which Xiang was extremely grateful.

Of Stars and Men is a 1964 animated film from the Hubley family of animators, based on the 1959 book of the same name by astronomer Harlow Shapley, who also narrates. Made in the style of a documentary, it tells of humankind's quest (in the form of a child) to find its place in the universe, through themes such as outer space, physical matter, the meaning of life and the periodic table. There are no character voices; instead, they "talk" through their actions. It has been cited as an example of an "animated documentary".

Two twinlike women who live in the Stone Age want to wear the clothes that are all the rage. Birds on their heads, tigers on their shoulders and a fast crocodile as a means of transport –these are the challenges that men have to face.

Decollages Recolles is a mystery as it is unfinished, with no indication of the track Hirsh intended. We had two reels, each with a head title, but no identification whether they were to be printed together, or projected side by side (which seems more likely). Parts of reel one have optically printed layers of fireworks, oscilloscopes, birds, etc. Hirsh reprinted images similar to those in Eneri, Come Closer and Divertissement Rococo. Reel two is a much less polished collage with live action shots including city windows, a marching band, monkeys, circus performers, Charlie Chaplin footage and Paris neon at night. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in partnership with iotaCenter and National Film Preservation Foundation in 2000.

Woody is trying to sleep in the middle of the big city but there is way too much racket going on. He decides to vacation at the peaceful Tooti Fruiti Islands but there is even noise going on here...coming from a pirate (a literal "Sea dog") trying to bury his treasure. Craving rest and relaxation, Woody is determined to send the nautical canine on his way, eventually blowing him up with a shore mine. The pirate doesn't appreciate this and forces Woody to walk the plank... but, being none too smart, the old tar often ends up many times in the drink himself and not the woodpecker.

During a weekend spent on the island Hiddensee, the snobbish high school student Jan, who has just been expelled from school, meets Christine. Christine is impressed with his bragging attitude although he just uses it to hide his insecurity and his remorse about the fact that he was sacked. Naturally, he keeps quiet about his current situation. Christine’s companion Hannes is less thrilled about Jan. Later on, the three of them meet again at a dockyard in Stralsund. After the disreputable end of his school career, Jan is assigned to the very brigade in which Christine and Hannes work as a crane operator and a brigadier respectively.

Funded by the state, the films offer valuable insight into postwar Norwegian society. A wide range of Norwegian filmmakers contributed to the productions, resulting in a rich variety of styles and expressions. Several of the films also possess notable cinematic qualities, standing out as more than just informational material. The Oslofilms represent a unique and important chapter in Norwegian film history.

The members of the artists’ group run around the streets, play amidst the ruins of the city, and literally break through the credits of the film as the bewildered bourgeoisie look on. The bourgeoisie are represented by a masked married couple who have tethered their child to the balcony of their apartment. To the irritation of the parents, the child repeatedly throws a ball down into the street, and the father has to retrieve it again and again. At the end of the film the artists, now positioned on the stairs of the Academy, are all wearing masks and badges with what look like convict numbers. People in the streets begin to uncover the pistols under their coattails. The “Art Brut” music for the film was made by Asger Jorn and Jean Dubuffet and is played on toy instruments. Jean-Luc Godard wanted the film shown before screenings of La Chinoise (1967), but the request was vetoed by Debord.

The film uses an alternative shooting method, the so-called staring camera, two years before the same method used by Andy Warhol and two years before the use of similar methods at the GEFF in Zagreb. The tape is connected in a circle, like an endless tape.

One of the most characteristic elements in DivEdCo's films was the resolution of conflict through dialogue. This is the case in Belén, where the protagonist must deal with her father's patriarchal objections to her desire to become a nurse.

The history of the Holocaust is revealed in this film in a condensed, intensive way: first the memorials for the victims throughout Israel, and only then the beginning of it all - the rise of the Nazi regime, the Ghetto with its hunger and death, but with its music and theatre too, the uprising, the death camps; and it ends with the trial of Adolf Eichmann, one of the chief architects of the genocide. The music of Oedoen Partos, blending Jewish, Israeli and European motives, helps portray in sounds that lost world which now belongs to memory alone

One of six films which examine in depth the work involved in this great engineering project. As they are of a technical nature, they were only available for showing to suitable audiences. In preparation for the construction of the new Victoria / Walthamstow line two experimental lengths of tunnels are driven using different lining materials. The film shows in considerable detail the aligning of the cutting equipment, the operation of the shield and cutters and the two techniques of lining.

His mistress tries to keep him from his companions, but he steals her belongings to help the persecuted. Dissatisfied, she denounces him, compromising him politically.

A film by Tom Spring Smyth was taken during the British Museum (Natural History) Expedition to East Nepal 1961-1962. This is a vibrant and colourful film documenting local life in East Nepal. From children playing on swings and a Ferris Wheel to goat sacrifice, shots of the mountainous landscape and vegetation, agricultural work and daily village life (domestic activities and craftwork).

The beautiful gypsy Marina, who has never known her father, decides to leave her mother and the gypsy camp and go to live in the city. With Katerina's help, she finds a job in a shop where she meets and falls in love with Petros, heir to the wealthy Alexandros Kanaris. The two lovers plan to marry, but Petros' father, who is naturally opposed to such a marriage, learns of Marina's origins. The great suffering begins when she tells Petros the secret, and he kicks her out of the house because he considers gypsies to be lowly. However, he does not know that Marina is pregnant with his child. Six years later, when Petros returns to Greece after completing his studies in cardiology, little Annoula—his daughter, whom Marina had left at Kanaris' doorstep—will be the reason her parents reunite.

The film tries to persuade young viewers that they should only watch TV after having completed their duties; it shows them (and their parents) what the world would look like if everyone watched TV instead of working.

The camera enters one of the Yugoslav prisons and records the life of prisoners. The dominating idea, above all, is that a man without freedom is a man without a face.

The film uses slides - photographic planes - which show different surfaces and finishes of a wall, which have been erroded by time. Kren stacks the positives and negatives of these pictures quickly one after the other, so that a moving relief-type structure develops through this combination of "two eyes." A mysterious ambiguous image manifests itself before us, surrounded by all kinds of possible mythological connotations. What is there to see?

In this short film, Ju/'hoan women rest, talk and nurse their babies while lying in the shade of a baobab tree. This film is a good illustration of "collective mothering" in which several women support each other and share the nurturing role.
