Shyamali, who is both hearing and speech impaired, faces several struggles in life. While the man she marries supports her, she is not accepted by her in-laws.

Tennessee, 1838. Polly Crockett, the daughter of the legendary hero Davy Crockett of Alamo, and makes a living from hunting in the forests. These forests are still inhabited by the Indians. Most of them live in peace but some of them are negatively affected by white traders. One day Polly, who is accompanied by her faithful Indian friend Neshoba, goes to the town to sell her hides. Polly meets Catawampus Jones. Jones and his father fought in the Alamo too. Indians influenced by Prewitt, an employee of a hide company, and Redbud, are killing settlers and burning down their homes. Polly's house is destroyed too and her maid Birdie, Neshoba's mother, is killed.

In the Dutch town of Saardam, Tsar Peter the Great has disguised himself in order to learn the art of ship-building. Another Russian named Peter also works at the wharf, causing a comical case of mistaken identities. Emissaries sent from France and England have difficulty locating the man they are looking for, and the lovely Marie is courted by both Peters. An adaptation of Albert Lortzing's eponymous comic opera (1837).

Kam Fan and Wong Ching-ping have a peaceful married life, until Ping's mother is serious ill. They desperately need a large amount of money. Fan tries in vain to raise money, he thus intends to use their daughter's school fees for the medical fees. Ping is against it and works as a song girl to earn money for her mother's medical expense. Her grudging husband Kam Fan uses a bed sheet to partition the bedroom into halves and even demands a divorce. After some mediation by their lawyer and neighbours, Wong finds a teaching job at an orphanage, but Fan still opposes it. Ping is so angry that she moves to live in the dormitory of the orphanage. Fan has to look after their daughter alone, making everything a mess. Later, their daughter catches a cold and has a high fever after an outing with Fan. Ping cannot set her mind at rest and goes home to take care of her daughter. The loving couple reconciles, for the sake of their daughter.

The proud grandfather, retired General Count Hardberg, had actually already announced to his comrades that he would be the heir, but the grandson had become a granddaughter. Years later, Antonia had grown into a pretty but vivacious young woman. When the famous Kaiserjäger moved into their quarters at the castle, the cheeky countess had a bit of fun and slipped into her father's uniform. As Cadet Anton, she went along on maneuvers and drove her commander, First Lieutenant Pacher, to despair with her lack of discipline. But when Pacher noticed what an enchanting creature was hiding behind the cadet uniform, his heart was smitten...

Wally and Eddie are on their way to Reno to win enough money to pay for a little boy's operation. On the way, their car is stolen by two girls and they are beaten up by the girl's boyfriends. They win a lot of money in Reno, but have to fight their way through a free-for-all with two amazons in order to keep it.

Finally, Donald has had enough and fixes his house guaranteeing no more accidents. That's good for Donald but the rest of the accident prone city still has to learn "not to blame fate for your carelessness".

The two rustic Bavarians want to enjoy life in the big city for a while, but the two provincials are not up to this kind of jungle.
