In the deserted ice-cream parlor, the thirsty mice are never able to drink their concoctions because Katnip the Kat keeps them running for their little mice-lives. Lingga, a man from Natuna, opposes this noble endeavor. The conflict is getting sharper, because Riana, the Natuna girl, and Dipa are in love. Lingga challenges, but loses the fight. It was only then that Lingga gave up Riana, and blessed Dipa to hold a union.

An only child of poor farmers goes to Athens to study medicine. He meets and falls in love with an orphan girl who aspires to become a singer. The young man's father and the girl's aunt, with whom she lives, oppose their relationship. Eventually, the two go to live in a boarding house with their newborn child. They live in poverty and hardship because the young man is an unknown doctor. They quarrel, but they make up and go to live in the doctor's village, now happy.

Gendarme Hoppe is packing to leave for a long-awaited vacation in Germany. Before he can leave the post, however, a Jewish boy shows up. Hoppe must make a decision about the child's life.
