Bridge of Time is a 1950 short film made by London Films, and directed by Geoffrey Boothby and David Eady. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Subject, Two-Reel.

In the middle of the 19th century, almost one in three women who gave birth died of puerperal fever. The Hungarian doctor Ignaz Philipp Semmelweis also observed these terrible occurrences in his clinic in Vienna. He came to the conclusion that it was primarily the unhygienic conditions in the clinic itself that led to this disease, as his colleagues were constantly shuttling back and forth between the anatomy department and the delivery room. He tries to convince the doctors of the absolute necessity of thorough disinfection by washing their hands with chlorinated lime. He meets with fierce resistance from his colleagues until he himself sets up an exemplary clinic in Budapest.

Maryam, a village girl engaged to Ahmad, is deceived by a city boy named Mahmoud. Fearing scandal, Maryam becomes a wanderer in the city. Later, she turns to singing and quickly gains much fame and popularity.

One of the earliest works of the outstanding Hungarian director Miklós Jancso was filmed by him in collaboration with Dezho Koza and Gyula Meszáros as a documentary short film dedicated to the propaganda of building socialism in Hungary.

Song of the Wild is Heinz Sielmann's first feature film, made in black and white and a valuable contemporary document. Filming took place in 1948 and 1949 in the Deister, at the Meißendorf ponds near Celle, in the Lüneburg Heath, on the Ems between Papenburg and Lingen and in the Harz. At a time when food rations were low and poaching was everywhere, when the British victorious power had large areas of forest cut down, the film was intended to educate people about the value of the nature around them. The film premiered in the fall of 1949 and became a huge box office success.
