When the Commissioner falls ill with a dose of malaria, Tibbetts is forced to take over his duties, which include collecting the taxes. Upriver, he finds an old paddlesteamer operated by Harbottle (Moore Marriott) and Albert (Graham Moffatt) and the threesome rescue a baby from death by sacrifice.

Long John Silver forces the Captain to bet his house in a cockfight. It's John's champion rooster, the Honduras Hurricane, versus the Captain's: a scrawny bird with a bad cold. The boys replace the sick bird with a violent baby eagle.

She tries to hide, but this only scares the crew more, because they think the ship's haunted. When she is revealed, the crew comes after her to throw her off, and then turns on captain Popeye.
