A picturesque tour of Guadeloupe (French Caribbean) and its archipelago filmed in 1928 by Alfred Chaumel, colonial administrator: from Pointe-à-Pitre and its harbour to the islands of Les Saintes, Marie-Galante, and La Désirade, passing by the jagged coasts of the Porte d'Enfer, the sugarcane fields, the ravines, and the cockpits, the film showcases the natural beauty of the landscapes and the diversity of human activities.

Part of a short-lived "Izzie and Lizzie" series named after the male and female ingénues in two comically contrasted families living next door to one another, this slapstick adventure finds Lizzie Murphy (Bess True) "going Hollywood." Having won a beauty contest, she's invited to travel west for a film test. Both Izzie Cohen and the Murphy menfolk are soon in hot pursuit, having belatedly realized that (according to a lurid tell-all book) Tinsel Town is the ruin of many a virtuous maiden. When they arrive, Lizzie is already starring in a movie and the wide-eyed family folk are fast wreaking havoc on the lot at "Paramet Studio."

A community comedy set in Feilding using local people in the leading roles. The Manawatū town’s name is however misspelt in the title. The new school teacher is courted by Ken the journalist and part-time fireman and Tom the grocery clerk, who play tricks to discredit each other. Kidnapping and a car chase follow.

Resia Boroboedoer (Secret of Borobudur) is a 1928 adventure film produced by Nancing Film Corp. Starring Chinese actress Olive Young, it followed a young woman on her quest to find Gautama Buddha's ashes in the temple of Borobudur.

An Unexpected Hero is a 1928 Western short.

An early documentary about life above Earth, focusing on the planet's atmosphere and how what we do affects it. Also shown is a young boy learning how to to make a refractive telescope. In the last half of the film, an aircraft takes an imaginary trip to the moon.

The critic for L’Intransigeant (04.06.1928) complained that in this film, the couple Gabrielle Robinne (1886-1980) and René Alexandre (1885-1946) are seen in a hotel, like everyone else, viewing the Pyramids, like everyone else, and riding a camel, like everyone else. He does however admire the use of colour.

Fashion newsreel

Documentary by the Argentine meteorologist José Manuel Moneta, recorded in the base "Orcadas" (Islas Orcadas del Sur) in 1927. It is the first film recorded by a Latin American in Antarctica.

A journey by camera through Berlin.

This 1920s home movie, shot by longtime Corpus Christi resident Antonio Rodríguez Fuentes, may well represent some of the earliest produced by a Mexican-American filmmaker about the Mexican-American community in Texas. The footage first shows Fuentes, his wife Josefina, and four of their children exiting their home. Then, Fuentes steps behind the camera to capture his son Antonio Jr. riding a tricycle.

This short was the fourth of four that Earl Burtnett would make at Vitaphone in 1928. As with the previous ones, this here features three songs by Burtnett and his ten-man orchestra.

This three-person act has Jerry Williams doing the piano work while Dora Maughan and Walter Fehl do the "singing." What we basically have is the two doing a comedy act where the dialogue is sung instead of just spoken in a normal way.
