An Aesop’s Film Fables short.

Charley has in-laws that look down on him because he's not rich. So, to try to keep up, he rushes out to buy a car—but no matter, they still think he's a drip—as does his wife. Later, when he's given a simple job to do by his boss, he screws it up—and loses face once again with his family.

1925 (Soviet Union)

Jus' travlin', Bob and his sidekick run into the outlaw Jean Le Roque. A miner has found gold and Le Roque not only wants the gold but also the miner's daughter. He captures the miner and tries to get the mine's location from him. He also tells the daughter he will kill her father unless she marries him. After disposing of Le Roque's gang by accidentally setting off a explosive charge that kills them, Bob goes after Le Roque.

Al is the assistant shipping clerk. He plants himself on top of a mass of crates and fishes valises up with a line attached to a rod and reel. He accidentally catches his boss and the latter runs him ragged before he escapes. Al discovers a crate marked for a Mrs. Wilson - a police dog from Germany. He opens the crate. The hound runs free. Al pursues.

Karen Wang and her beloved Kai Ørn live happily together. However, just as he’s about to propose, a serpent slithers into the paradise: Viggo Eibye, who’s a bad man, also wants to marry Karen. For financial reasons, she says yes to the marriage, but before the wedding day, Viggo Eibye dies in mysterious circumstances. Wang and Ørn are suspected, and two men are put on the case – the brusque detective Engberg and a cunning reporter, who may be able to explain how these cases are actually intertwined. (stumfilm.dk)

The main protagonists of the film are Katya (Varvara Popova), the daughter of a factory worker and Andrey (Ivan Koval-Samborsky), the son of the former owner of the factory who illegally returns to the USSR to find treasures hidden by his father. The film title refers to the Communist party's appeal, after Lenin's death, to enlarge its membership.

A vivacious young woman known only as Captain Joe captains a rum-runner operating between the Bahamas and the United States. Jerry Burke, a Secret Service agent assigned to the Bahamas to halt this illegal trade in rum, meets Captain Joe, whom he knows as Peggy O'Day, and falls in love with her, arousing the antipathy of Pietro, Peggy's first mate.

Mamie is a New York shop girl who has saved up for a whole year so she can put herself in an exclusive summer resort for a week like an aristocrat and perhaps win herself a "Prince Charming." Farrington is a collector for an installment payment company who is at the resort for the same purpose. A series of humorous incidents invariably bring them together. Second release in Fox's 'O. Henry Stories' 2-reel series.

Jimmy Jump has a "plain" girlfriend, and becomes intrigued by a "fancy" girl he spots in a park. Eventually he realizes he is better off with his no-frills girl.

It's mayhem in the house as Julius the cat squares off against a pugilistic bear while Alice looks on adoringly.

Wonder dog and horse belong to Pattie, the "wild girl" of the title, who rejects a proposal from uncouth mountaineer Lige Blew in favor of romancing handsome photographer Billy Woodruff. Taking umbrage to the girl's decision, Lige frames Pattie's granddad for murder.

An early silhouette animated film by Hidehiko Okuda, Hakusan Kimura and Tomu Uchida. The original story is a Buddhist tale of a young lady who saved a crab (a spiritual being according to Japanese Buddhist faith) from being eaten, and was later saved from danger by the same crab.

Alice and Julius are playing on the seashore when Pete comes around, gets Julius drunk and tries to steal a crossword puzzle from Alice. Julius has to sober up to come to the rescue.

If you are sitting comfortably then Archie the Ant will begin his bedtime story, although sadly Archie’s creator left it unfinished. Frank Percy Smith was a true pioneer of natural history filmmaking and a real lover of insects. “Marking time”, as he later put it, between working on educational films he spent two years making this “Bedtime Stories of Archie the Ant” series, which was seemingly never released. The film is left as it was when Smith abandoned work on it. It’s out of sequence, and has repeat alternate takes giving an insight into his working methods. The intertitles are bunched at the end, offering a tantalising glimpse of where the story was going.

Following her father's advice, Hélène Haviland (Sandra Milovanoff) accepts the marriage proposal of Fellaire de Sizac (Abel Tarride). Later she finds Dr. Groult (Henri Fabert), one of their friends, trying to kill her husband by poisoning slowly over a long period of time. It's painful but she keeps silence...

A SPEEDY MARRIAGE (Universal-Century - Two Reels) This is a typical Wanda Wiley vehicle with a world of action, none of which, however, has not been seen many times before. They have taken the action out of about three oft-repeated comedy tales and crowded it into these two reels. Miss Wiley is certainly a lively young lady and a glutton for punishment. She takes many a hard fall and an equal number of rough knocks. She is also capable of better material than she is given to exploit in this one.

Oscar has been sent to the plains to make a man of himself, is soon visited by his sister Sybil Estabrook, who travels west along with her maid in tow. Oscar, who has been losing at cards to Victor Dufresne, is forced by him to rob a stagecoach in order to pay off his gambling debts.

A woman is led to believe her scheming husband is dead in this melodrama taken from the story by Viola Brothers Shore.

The Secret of Castle Elmshoh

Austria silent film from 1925 directed by Hans Otto, telling the story about the Austrian officer who rose to head the counter-intelligence efforts of Austria-Hungary. He was himself a paid spy for the Russians.

Dan Savage prepares his son, Randall to fight in the business world by having him trained as a pugilist. Randall shows a flare for fisticuffs, so he is taken to the Ironworkers Ball to try out his infamous "shock punch."

Joanne Gray goes North to find out whether her husband is dead or alive and to attempt to obtain the release of her innocent brother from jail. She becomes enamored of a youth who has staked out a gold claim but remains chaste until her husband is found and killed, meeting death in a fight with the youth's partner.

Julius, the boss of Alice's chicken farm, has to find a way to deliver 5000 eggs to Sinkem and Soakem when the hens go on strike.

Robert Marshall’s dying utterance seems to point to Colman Colby (Robert Frazer) as his killer. Colby is arrested and at trial all testimony points to his guilt. But as the jury deliberates, the unfairly named “other woman” (Helen Lee Worthing) sets out to prove his innocence.

In order to arouse the jealousy of Philip Steele, a wealthy young man who is infatuated with her, Isobel Becker introduces her father to him as her husband. Steele is bitterly disappointed and before Isobel can explain her little joke, he leaves and joins the Northwest Mounted Police, in which he soon distinguishes himself. He is assigned to bring in Bucky Nome, a notorious gambler and lecher who is wanted for murder. Colonel Becker, Isobel's wealthy father, is interested in the fur business and goes to Canada, taking her with him. Bucky wrecks the pleasure train on which they are riding and kidnaps Isobel. Steele eventually catches up with Bucky, bringing him to justice and rescuing Isobel. The subdued girl explains her joke, and Steele resigns from the force, again taking his place in polite society.

Bonzo the dog goes to Scotland.

School for Wives is a 1925 American silent drama film directed by Victor Halperin and starring Conway Tearle, Sigrid Holmquist, and Peggy Kelly. It provided an early role for the future star Brian Donlevy. Based on Leonard Merrick's 1907 melodramatic novel The House of Lynch, it was not well-received by critics.

Also known as The Man Without a Country

Ralph Graves is a football hero that delvers ice for a living in this Mack Sennett slapstick comedy.

The story, set in the 19th century, revolves around the hot-blooded Jussi, a young farmer, and his friend Antti and their brushes with the local nimismies (sheriff) and the häjyt (badmen). The film, shot on location on the plains of Ostrobothnia, conveys a good sense of its unique landscape. Both Järviluoma and the director, Jalmari Lahdensuo were from Ostrobothnia and the film suc­cessfully expresses a feeling of the true spirit of the province.

1925 animated cartoon in two-color Technicolor. The Old Family Toothbrush features a character named Kid Noah in “A New Redhead Satire” filmed in Naturecolor, using the Wilson Wetherald Process.
