Carter Spencer, although coming from a religious and socially prominent family, has a wild streak and likes "playing the field", gambling and drinking. He loves Clarice Penlow, a singer in a local choir, who loves him, too, but is put off by his "wild" lifestyle. When Prohibition takes effect, Clarice wants Carter to become a Prohibition agent, thinking that having to enforce the laws that he spent much of his life breaking will change his outlook. He accedes to her wishes out of his love for her--but complications ensue.

The sculptor Peter Starling shot himself in the museum. When the museum director examined the body, he found a diary from whose entries he could deduce the reason for the suicide: Starling had once come across a mummy and a papyrus scroll on a trip to Egypt and had given both artifacts to the museum upon his return. Starling was able to deduce from the papyrus scroll with the cuneiform writing that the mummy, once a king's daughter, would one day awaken and then live as long as the mummy wanted.

The film tells in a humorous way of the artistic aspirations of a young and bourgeoisie fraulein who wants to become a famous actress, the most important diva of all times, although her family , especially her father, are unhappy with her artistic dreams. But thanks to her tenacity, as well as the collaboration of some servants and members of her family (they help her rehearse her roles which are taken from Roman Empire times), the young fraulein finally gets to star in a film. But the premiere will be a disaster because due to the inexperience of the projectionist, the actors in the picture are all rapidly moving backwards, causing general laughter in the audience and spelling the end of the glorious but brief cinematic career of our heroine.

Christmas Thoughts is a short promotional film produced by the Ford Motor Company in 1920. Distributed to Ford dealers, it aimed to encourage charitable initiatives such as the Goodfellows Clubs, which provided food and gifts to families in need during the holiday season. The story follows a group of businessmen who decide to deliver a festive meal and presents to a struggling family. The film concludes with heartwarming scenes of children meeting Santa Claus and receiving gifts, emphasizing generosity and community spirit.

It will manifest itself in the destinies of the two protagonists, in the story of an unmarried mother from a mountain village, who becomes a great opera singer and toast of the city salons, and in the story of her seducer, a successful painter. The fate of the two lovers offers a double perspective. One of the advertising slogans for Tam na horách was “The first Czech film of international production”, which helped to rise the audience’s expectations.

Maud married the banker Dumont mainly out of interest. As her husband accumulates mistresses, Maud writes to her favorite author, Jean d'Agrève, who is actually a charming old lady who think it best to give the letter to her son. The latter pretends he is the author in order to meet Maud. They become friends. But Dumont is assassinated and the young man is somehow accused of the murder.
