The Girl of Gold Gulch is a silent Western

A man traveling home for Christmas gets stuck in a small town and finds romance with a woman operating the telegraph.

In medieval Ireland Willy Brennon is a daring adventurer and highwayman in love with young Molly Bawn. Molly lives with her father in a house belonging to the mayor, whose son Jack is infatuated with Molly as well. Willy and Jack at first hold animosity towards each other but soon become allies. The mayor hates Willy and is determined to capture him but through the machinations of Molly and Jack, Willy makes a break for liberty. In time the young lovers are reunited and sail to America.

Men have a race to win a girl and get involved with crooks posing as a beautifying machine.

Captain Jinks, the Cobbler was one of two Jinks comedies released by Vitagraph for Christmas 1916 and, according to the U.S. copyright filing, was loosely based on the true story of celebrated conman Friedrich Wilhelm Voigt, who passed as a Prussian officer and commandeered funds from the Köpenick municipal treasury in 1906. In Vitagraph’s adaptation of the tale, the first movie version made in America, an army officer in some unpronounceable Central European town directs Jinks to repair his gear. Hounded by his nagging wife, the cobbler dons the officer’s uniform and parades about town. The impersonation proves so convincing that the burgomeister awards Jinks the officer’s bonus. When the ruse is discovered, the court gives Jinks a choice: two years in jail or at home with his wife. The film ends with cobbler pondering the pros and cons.

The Count and Countess Bertrand are prominent in society. The Count is also a lieutenant. The throw a society circus and part of the entertainment is ring master and circus rider Alexander Ivanoff. But in reality Ivanoff is a spy, and with the aid of his wife he steals some documents from the Count which involve the mobilization of troops. When the papers turn up missing Bertrand is court martialed and sent to prison for a 12-year sentence.

Jean Bazard and the lawyer Alphonse Car are rivals of the beautiful Rose Legrange, but Bazard wins her love. Carrel is more successful in his shameful economic speculations together with banker Leroux, who is Roses's uncle.

Millionaire John Huntley-Knox, the owner of the Boston Star, fights political corruption with the aid of William Wendell, the reform district attorney.

Neurologist and hypnotist Dr. Andrew Smiley is the guardian of wealthy siblings Wilfred and Marcie Redmond. Smiley wants to marry Marcia, as he desperately needs money, but when he proposes to her, she rejects him. Smiley has a secret lover, Sarah Kayton, the head nurse of his sanatorium, and she has borne him a son, Paul Kayton, who is Smiley's secretary, unaware that his boss is the father. Smiley devises a plan to have Marcia adjudged insane and take her fortune. He almost succeeds but at the last-minute he fails.

Ollie is a love-struck private who is drilled by his unsympathetic lieutenant at reveille. The colonel of the regiment wants his daughter to marry the lieutenant but she has her heart set on the chubby-faced Hardy, who himself is in love with another woman. He is thrown into a cell for disobeying orders, where he later escapes with the assistance of his sweetheart, and a casual touch of assault when he bumps the guard with his large stomach. The final chase scene ends with everyone getting what they want.

Widower Calvert Paige leaves his baby daughter Johnnie in New York and goes West where he becomes wealthy as a mine owner and newspaperman. Lil Magill, who came to work on his newspaper, becomes infatuated with Paige, as he is with her, and they become lovers. After several years Lil has become a successful author but Paige has tired of her. Their estrangement grows when Lil takes the side of striking miners against him.

Asa, in love with Senneth but rejected for Essene, asks her sorcerer father, Kam, to magically force Senneth to reciprocate her love. Kam refuses. When Asa tries to poison Senneth, another sorcerer, Ram, intervenes with a 3,000-year spell of loveless rebirth.

Childhood friends Captain Weiden and Squire Born were both in love with the same girl, Lucille, but Weiden was the one to marry her. When Weiden is forced leave for military service, Born promises to look after Lucille.

Hero Handsome Harry must rescue his love interest, Lizzie, from a villainous character named Creampuff. Harry is repeatedly "beaned" by a beanshooter in the hands of a villainous boy and then Creampuff, but he overcomes the obstacles, defeats Creampuff, and ultimately is arrested for carrying a concealed weapon before being freed by the triumph of justice.

The owner of a small rustic hotel marries a local widow, whereupon the couple sets up housekeeping with their respective grown sons. The hotelier's son is a budding thief, but it is the widow's son who is blamed for his half-brother's crimes. When the truth comes out, the widow patches up the tattered relationships between the father, his son and his stepson -- and it is the widow who rids the community of the "bad element" who led the thieving son astray.

Financial troubles force Nell Carroll, a thoroughbred, to seek employment in a detective agency which has just taken up the trail of a very baffling jewelry robbery in an exclusive summer colony. In order to work from the inside, she is sent to the place as the Baroness Du Vassey.

After the respectable Dr. Monro was found dead, the housekeeper and two engineers testify in court. A case of commercial delinquency and bribery is reconstructed on that occasion. Sadly only about half the film exists today.

When a player is bribed to throw the big football game at the University of Virginia it sets in motion much heartache for all involved.

Irene Norris returns to the ranch from boarding school. She sees Dick Taylor, ranch foreman, win over Poncho, and half-breed, in a bucking bronco contest. She admires Dick's ability as a rider, and a friendship springs up between them much to the rage of Poncho, who loves the girl.

On her way to rehearsal, chorus-girl Betty stops to rescue a bird from the clutches of a boy with a bean-shooter. Jim Derwent, son of the theater owner, is passing in his car and sees the girl boxing the boy's ears while her aunt looks about for a policeman, and he stops to see what's wrong. He recognizes Betty, and after explanations, Jim drives them to her home, where the bird is cared for. On her arrival at the theater the stage manager bawls her out and fires her, but Jim gets his dad to countermand the manager's decree. The next day Jim calls, more to see Betty than the bird, and a charming romance is soon underway. After a "night out," the leading lady calls in sick and Betty has the chance to take her place. She makes good, and the former leading lady is deposed. But Betty soon has the opportunity to become Jim's own leading lady, and when he promises to love her pets as well, she becomes his bride.

Mrs. Walken is in deep grief after her husbands sudden death. In the paper she reads about a medium Dr. Kinley. Widow Walken decides to have a seance, hoping she will make contact with her dead husband.

Tom is not in favor with Flossie's aunt though the latter lady thinks he is just right. Tom's fertile brain forms a scheme and by a fake rescue of Flossie from the ocean waves he gets in the good graces of the stern aunt. But when the next day finds Aunty in peril herself the truth comes out: Tom can't swim.

A lord changes places with a dead jewel thief in order to steal his wife's letters back from a blackmailer.

Neal, while sitting in his room, notices an accident in the street and kindly goes to the man's rescue with his car and takes him to the hospital. The nurse assigned to the case, Billie, makes a great hit with Neal.

Disguised as a prince a bandit attempts to steal a princess's heart and jewels, but his plan backfires when the princess is captivated by his true bandit self leading to a comedic chase and capture.

James Wadsworth sets his sights on the lovely society girl Anna Dalton and determines to marry her. To achieve that goal, he follows her everywhere she goes, including on a ship to South America. He comes up with a plan to make her love him--he throws her overboard, follows her over the side and swims with her to a deserted island. His somewhat unorthodox method works and he wins over Anna, but problems arise when Richard Towne, Anna's fiancé who has been searching for her, finds the island and discovers the two.

Pa is becoming increasingly crotchety, and has been crabby with Tom and with everyone else on the ranch. Then he gets a letter telling him that a young woman artist is coming to the ranch to sketch some of the scenery. The ranch hands are surprised and amused by the way that Pa's disposition improves as a result. But soon Pa and Tom are involved in a rivalry for the young woman's attention.

The wealthy owner of a fishing-boat fleet, Martin Cane, loves lovely Maida Rhodes, but her heart belongs to Jo Sprague, the son of the lighthouse keeper. Not only does Cane lose his love, but when his fleet is ruined he has to start over again from scratch. Maida soon finds out, however, that neither of her suitors is actually what he seems to be, which is good for one of them and not good for the other.

A Corner in Water is a silent Western.

In the home of the stalwart young son and his mother, the girl rescued from the sea grows strong again after her fearful exposure. Her attractiveness, so different from that of the fisher maidens, has a telling effect on the young man. He asks her, at length, to become his bride, and she accepts. But a few days before the wedding the affianced bride disappears, sailing away with a strange man from the city, who has suddenly appeared. Thinking that his sweetheart had deserted him for another, the fisherman is heartbroken for a time, but gradually the keen edge of his sorrow wears away, and he succumbs to the attractions of another girl, one who had recently come to the village with her father, and who had lived together and alone at the end of the town.

It was all because John was the image of Frank, the health inspector. John lost his purse and Frank found it. Then he went to the former's house and Matilda thought her hubby was crazy because he did not recognize her. Frank had forgotten his badge, and so could not prove his identity, and was taken to the insane asylum. But Bess discovered that Frank left his badge and went to the first house on his list to give it to him. At the corner she met John looking for the wallet. He liked her and said that he would take her to lunch. When he arrived home he thought that Matilda was crazy, and sent to the asylum for help.

A little boy and his beloved puppy find themselves in and out of mischief.

On a visit to the State Prison with Superintendent Melvin of the construction camp near Lone Point. Helen gains the friendship of Butler, a former telegrapher who had been wrongfully convicted on circumstantial evidence. Butler is soon to be released and Helen promises to aid him.
