Joe Fuller, the outlaw and bandit, draws rein at a humble cottage and begs refreshment. The traditional hospitality of the west is at once shown him by Jane White, who is alone in the house at the time, with her baby daughter. The bandit is given food and drink, while he is eating which, the baby takes a child-like fancy to him.

The film was long considered completely lost until the original negative was found in France in 2010, and it is the first of Malmö producer Frans Lundberg's rich feature film production to be rediscovered in nearly complete condition. Dave Trent is employed on the Big C ranch and lives with his sister, Mary, a charming girl. Jim Andrews, foreman of the ranch, loves Mary, and one morning calls to put the engagement ring on her finger.
Willie loved his mother. Yes, and he was selfish about it, too. He didn't want a new father and when the old Baron Anatole called lo pay attention to Mrs. Darfeuil, Willie made it most interesting for him. The cute little fellow was original in his methods and the thorough manner in which he demonstrated his dislike for the Baron is certainly amusing. The youngster who plays Willie, is a very clever little performer and the comedy situations are handled in such a laughable manner that the subject is indeed an enjoyable one.
Billy Quirk starts out in the morning for his office. Billy has important papers in his valise (grip) and important matters on his mind. The trouble starts when Billy takes a streetcar and, in his hurry, he grabs not his but a similar valise which happens to belong to a woman with a bad temper. When Billy discovers that his valise, instead of containing valuable papers, contains lingerie and false hair, he panics. Billy tries to get his back before his wife misinterprets the situation, but she finds it just as the rightful owner enters the scene and the two clash, Billy runs for dear life complicating things still more.
Why will people try to be something they are not? Everybody does it. Whiffles does it. He wants to give his sweetheart the impression that he is a fine singer and as he has no voice he employs a capable tenor to supply the music from behind the screen while he makes the necessary facial expressions. In the midst of a song the voice ceases, but Whiffles goes on without it much to everybody's amusement.

Two Merry Jokers get "caught with the goods." Leah and Lizette receive notes from their respective admirers, who wish to arrange a holiday party. Leah suggests that the three come to her house and have a jolly time. The two sweethearts, Tony and Fritz, are married men, Tony being Fritz's father-in-law. Each leaves home in the morning, claiming to have an important engagement for the day. Fritz arrives first, with parcels of good things to eat, and Lizette and her friend Tony arrive soon after. The scene which follows may be better imagined than described. However the two men pledge secrecy, and the party proves a huge success. An unexpected sequel follows the next day, for the wives happen to make purchases at the millinery shop in which the girls are employed. On delivering the hats, Leah and Lizette meet their sweethearts and learn that they are married men. Accusations, excuses and a general scrimmage follow. Gavroche lives by his wit, so when he reads an ad, which tells that a rich American girl will marry the man who can cause her to experience the greatest thrill or sensation, he puts his mental ingenuity working, and he conceives a plan to win. He calls at her address and sees two suitors try and fail. He then goes to a menagerie, where he buys two lions. With these he returns and enters the office where the contract is to be signed if he should prove the victor. All flee before Gavroche and his lions, all but the heiress, who flies into his arms begging protection. Thus it is that he caused her the greatest emotion or thrill and she gladly names him victor and husband-to-be.

The husband then noticed a newspaper item. "James Burden, the Multi-Millionaire, interested in Charity." Then the idea came; it was daring, it was wrong, and he knew it: but he was desperate. He would call on the millionaire, ask for a contribution, and then copy his signature and forge a check.
