Documentary about the celebrations for the 100 years of the May Revolution.

A man who has just won the lottery is mobbed by reporters.

A woman in a ragged dress staggers to a road sign. A hunter comes by. She asks him for directions. He gives them and starts to leave, but she staggers, and he takes her home to his sister to care for. Later, he asks her to marry him and she agrees. However, one day while out shopping, she meets a rich hunter....

Film about Africa with images of various activities, including mashing of corn, embroidery, pottery, tipping trailers, diamond mining and hunting for hippos in the Zambezi river. In addition, you can see images of the indigenous population (women, children), local animal species such as zebras and antelopes, and the Victoria Falls.

This silent film, colored with stencils and restored by the French Film Archives (CNC) for the Cinémathèque de Bretagne in 1993, allows you to discover images of old sailing ships, Breton women in headdresses on the coast at Penmarc'h at the beginning of the last century.

A ferry boat unloads a train on the coasts of Sicily; the steam engine starts moving, the railway winds through stark landscapes and picturesque coastlines. In the meantime we are shown the gathering of seafood, the coming and going of people at the port and the ruins of ancient Greek settlements: Selinunte, Girgenti. The dominant colours in the film are the blue of the sea, the yellow of the sun and a beautiful red toning to render the majesty of the ruins standing out against the sky. The video is a copy from the film print held by the National Cinema Museum.

Paul and Jeanne are devoted lovers and meet on the balcony of their homes, which are side by side. The affair does not meet with the approval of Jeanne's papa, a retired colonel, who drags his daughter from the balcony. Balked of a personal meeting with his divinity, the young man tries to convey a note to her, and drops it, as he imagines, in her shoe. Unluckily the note falls into the colonel's boot by mistake, and the latter is amazed by the sudden affection of his daughter, who tries to persuade him not to go out. He insists, and accompanied by the girl, ventures into the street. The lover's efforts are now all directed towards getting hold of the boot with its incriminating contents.

Delaying his return to guard duty, Stephen, an Austrian soldier, is anxiously watching by the bedside of his dying wife. He gets to his post in time to take the place of the retiring guard. While he keeps sentinel, his little girl comes to him to tell him that her mother is dying and is calling for him. A war within himself is waged betwixt love and duty. Love wins, and, though it means martial punishment, he leaves his post and runs to see his wife before she dies.

A whole day lived at leg level: meeting a couple in the street, a drink at the bistro, passers-by... The gimmick of this short comedic drama is that all characters are filmed from the waist down.

Anti-alcohol drama based on a popular series about the clever and sporty hero Frank Merriwell. | In a small town in Arizona, Merriwel buys a mine from the seedy George Worthington. The locals drink quite a lot, and people want to keep things that way. Merriwell is being watched by an accomplice of Worthington, named Carl Raymonds. A girl, Triss, who wants to help her father quit drinking, asks Merriwell for help.

A splendid blend of live-action photography and Cohl's famous animation, Nothing... displays the realms man has conquered: Air, sea, the domains of music and machinery. The one thing man cannot conquer, Cohl posits, is gossip.

IMDb categorises this early German film as a documentary, but given its opening and closing shots, in which we see a small, buffoonish cameraman clowning around, it could also qualify as a comedy. The film is about five minutes long, and sandwiched between these aforementioned shots we see a collection of scenes of bathers on a beach. The majority of them grin at the camera like loons and follow it around like filings attracted to a magnet.
