Naturally, she trips the gardener, futzes with her aunt’s expensive perfume, terrifies the cooks by levitating pots and pans (with hidden string!), enjoys a bacchanalian feast of grapes and sausage, and then jumps out the window. Her uncle banishes her with a stern warning for tyrannizing their idyllic home. But Léontine does not appear chastised.

'Marvellous Melbourne' is a compilation of a series of films that Higgins and Spencer made about aspects of everyday life in the city and premiered at Wirth’s Olympia in Melbourne on 22 November 1910. The footage, with its camera angles, static shots, dollies and steady pans across the city, illustrates the beauty and many attractions of the city of Melbourne and is an important visual record of Melbourne’s history. According to the National Film and Sound Archive database, this is the "oldest surviving complete documentary film on Melbourne". Cozens Spencer, a Londoner, moved to Australia in 1905 and successfully exhibited films throughout the country. In 1908, Spencer formed a production unit (Spencers Pictures) with the cameraman Ernest Higgins, and made a number of short actuality films, this being one example. This is a wonderfully boisterous slapstick which, fairly typically for the Italian variety is very rough house, but still manages to excel the usual standards of the genre by a nicely modulated pace of excess: it starts out with a rather small man coming to visit a rather large woman -- played in drag by a large man -- who moves pianos rather than walking around them, and gradually ups the ante, first with a large fan which she can wave with sufficient force to blow down crowds and then a very large hat.

All is fair in love and war but when we go into it we must take our chances. A Mexican beauty, fascinating and venturous, is in love with a young Mexican, willing to do and act for him regardless of her own safety and reputation. The Mexican is playing cards with a party of cowboys, is aided by his inamorata in passing an extra card into his hand in order to cheat his opponents.
Anxious to escape the strain of business and seek diversion and recreation, Robert asks his father to give him a vacation for a few days' rest. The father, who is absorbed by his business affairs, one of the old school plodders, reluctantly grants the son's request and the young man hurries from the office, packs his grip and hustles for the train. On his way he makes the acquaintance of a very charming lady, who is hound for the same place as himself. Arriving at their destination he offers to carry her grip and she accepts his proffered kindness. Loaded down he follows her to the hotel where he gladly deposits the luggage to escape a complete collapse from exhaustion. He finds his "acquaintance" very winsome and attractive.
Three swells stopping at the same hotel, one a bicyclist, the other a horseman and the third a motorist, are ardently in love with the same widow, living in a villa some distance in the country. Each one, eager to woo her, makes an equally strong plea with apparently the same impression, although she seems slightly to favor the horseman. After listening to their declarations of love, she dismisses them with an evasive answer. With no decided preference she is in a quandary. She does not want to lose an opportunity, but how to make a choice is a difficult problem. She has an idea. She writes them a letter and sends it to the hotel: "The first one reaching my home and me can claim me as his bride."
