The young prince and the old king stand in the way of the treacherous queen's plans to gain the royal crown and fulfill her insatiable desire for power. The cunning queen manages to get rid of the prince and his stepson by sending him into the world to search for his dream Golden Maiden. With her helpers, she cunningly arranges everything so that the prince never returns and the old king does not survive. The path to the throne will then be clear. In the end, however, as in every good fairy tale, so too here, good will be rewarded and evil punished.

About Prince Leopold, who is not independent due to the poor upbringing of his royal parents. He makes up thousands of excuses for whatever he has to do. He likes to claim that he is unlucky and that if he had a dwarf, he would grow up too. The White Lady from the painting wants to help the maid Lidka, who loves the prince. So she conjures up a real dwarf for him, who makes Leopold's life "unpleasant". Will the prince's love help him grow up and get rid of the dwarf and his excuses?

The story of a peasant whose harshness and bluntness only provoke disputes and anger, and his honesty and sense of truth and honor in conjunction with the previous qualities only exacerbate these disputes. The Slovak village with its collective farming, confronted with the habits of a square nature, raised by private farming, creates the main plot and conflict. In parallel, there is a lyrical motif of the young generation, whose love relationships do not care about the old ridiculous anger of the old generation.

It's a crisp autumn morning. Marta prepares breakfast and goes to work. Little Jenda has a sore throat, so she has to go to her grandfather's to look after the boy. On the way to work, she reflects on the monotony of her life and marriage, and doubts whether her husband Karel still loves her. She spots a beautiful pair of Indian shoes in a fashion shop and shows them to Karel during her lunch break. He just runs his eyes over them and tells Marta to buy them. Martha is touched by his indifferent words. In the afternoon, encouraged by her colleague, she decides to buy the shoes. She is unlucky, however, as they have already been sold in the meantime. In the evening, Marta dresses for the theatre without any mood. In her wardrobe she discovers a box containing Indian slippers. Her face brightens with a smile and she goes to sew a button to Karl's white shirt without speaking. Suddenly the couple are close again.

An animal lover, Miloš , brings a small mouse to school, which causes a lot of excitement in the classroom. Miloš remains for punishment after school, however, when the teacher notices that Miloš is bringing lunch to his sick grandmother, she lets him go home. However, Miloš cannot get home with lunch. Somewhere, he lost the key he wears on the string around his neck.

At that time, as a kandrdas – i.e. a beginner – he asked the director for a so-called benefit, which was a performance that belonged to an important actor and whose proceeds were to belong to him. The director agreed, but stipulated that he would take almost all of the fee. Mošna chose The Bell Ringer at the Mother of God as the performance.
