The film follows a summer season in the lives of a group of retired Greek men and women who are regular visitors at various Greek spa towns. Life around Greek spa towns moves slowly with rhythms that are reminiscent of times past. Within this listless atmosphere, people feel free to do and say things they would never be allowed in their respective normal social circles. A sense of freedom and lightness is in the air. Instead of being amongst elderly people, one often gets the feeling of being around a group of teenagers in a summer camp. This joyful atmosphere often alternates with reflections on the past or on death.

The first Greek animated film was shot by the cartoonist Stamatis Polenakis (1908-1997) with the title "The Duce tells...". The seven-minute "Mickey-Mouse-style" film, as its creator mentions in the credits, satirizes the Italian invasion of Greece on October 28, 1940, and especially Mussolini, who recounts his exploits, but reality constantly contradicts him. Stamatis Polenakis, one of the leading Greek cartoonists of the 20th century and a pioneer of animation in our country, began drawing the sketches for the film in 1942 in his hometown, Sifnos, where he had taken refuge during the Occupation. He worked under the boot of the Italian conqueror, risking arrest. The film was lost during the Civil War and it was not until 1980 that a negative was found and restored.

A forgotten satirical (and occasionally dark) comedy about sex life in the Greek countryside.

A Greek journalist, Thomas Giannidis, learns that there will be an assassination attempt against Archbishop Makarios on July 15, 1974. After making several unsuccessful attempts to publish the information in the newspaper where he works, he decides to go to Cyprus. There he meets a Cypriot girl, Mary, whose brother serves in Makarios' presidential guard, and they put him in touch with Makarios himself. Makarios assures him that there have been many attempts in the past and is not impressed by his information. After an attempt to kill the journalist, the presidential guard decides to find evidence in the illegal organization's hideout. Then the coup takes place on the 15th and the Turkish invasion on July 20, 1974.

Tolis, a 60-year-old former singer wants to chase his career back. His wife, Fofo, attempts to focus him into love and his friends advise him that some dreams are meant to be just dreams. Tolis tries to improve his marriage, but an old brochure that he finds reminds him that he quit singing because of his family. Fofo feels responsible for her husband's misery so Tolis in an attempt of showing his love takes her out to the night club he used to sing, he sings for her and when they get back they make love.

The multilingual landscape, together with the continuous and repetitive image of the sea, are the elements that represent her inner, emotional space. There is a sudden interruption of the film: breaking news. Moving images and photos of an Irish Navy’s ship whose name is Lé James Joyce, and had the mission to save refugees in the Mediterranean Sea; simultaneously, a girl sings a contemporary song, inconsistent with the form and action of the film. Is this girl Eveline in 2020, or maybe not? We return to the third part of the film and the narrative flow of Joyce’s short story. A ship, a black ship. Is it the ship of the journey that Eveline denied, or is it the ship that the refugees are hoping for?
