In the commune of the Viennese action-ism-artist Otto Muehl the children should remain 'unspoilt from the nuclear family', in order to be brought up to a completely new human being. Setting out as a free collective in the early 70ies, soon the social experiment emerged as a totalitarian system, which, 20 years later, ended in a dramatic failure. Through the eyes of these children, the film looks back at the community and examines what has become of the children of this utopia.

Family friend and musician Billy Hinsche conned UCLA into letting him film a documentary about the tour on grainy, black-and-white videotape with a cumbersome Camcorder for his master’s thesis. The result is a fascinating time capsule that had been buried for 37 years.

Elia plays soccer on the beach and on the dirt fields of a remote village in Sicily, where one day Michele, a talent scout for Serie A, arrives. His target should be some boys from the local soccer school who are shown and recommended to him through more or less legitimate means, but his attention is immediately captured by the innate skill of 18-year-old Elia, who has the mind of a 12-year-old. It is the summer of 2006 when the two meet; Italian soccer is on one hand shaken by the Moggi scandal, and on the other hand exalted by the victory at the World Cup in Germany. The boy’s life could be ready for a change, but so could Michele’s, who despite his professional appearance, is not doing very well.

As awareness grows about the consequences of environmental disregard, the sustainability movement is gathering momentum, and the institutions with the furthest reach and the highest stakes - corporations - are being asked by customers to take the lead. Those ahead of the curve already realize that there is a way for industry to permanently coexist with its environment, that fitting in to natural systems is smarter than trying to control them, and that sustainability is the most expansive profit frontier yet to be explored. One business striving for these ideals deserves recognition above the rest for its inspiring leadership: Interface Inc. led by Ray Anderson. What is most remarkable about all companies making this positive shift is not the change of mind - but the change of heart they experience as they realize that environmental stewardship is an ethical imperative for the future.
