A skeptical marine biology student travels to a remote fishing village with the intention of doing a study on a strange fish called "The lead fish." There, unintentionally, he finds himself involved in a macabre mermaid tale.

It is no wonder for a son to have the miraculous powers of his father, but when he discovers love, that's the true miracle.

Mahesh (Srikanth) is a sincere and honest police officer. He loses his kids and his wife gets paralyzed as few politicians who don’t like his sincerity harm his family. Mahesh changes his appearance and name to join the gang to politicians to become one. The rest of the story is all about how he makes people realize that there is some fault in the system.

Mabel lives on a slum. Does work as a clown at children's parties and as a prostitute. At 20 crosses paths with Martin, a lawyer just shy of 40. He has divorced his wife and left the law firm he was working on. Buys a trailer and goes to live in it. Advertising for a car wash dressed as a bird he meets Mabel and they fell in love. Later she finds out she's living with HIV. From that moment on, Martin's love will help Mabel fight her battles with death.

The 12-year-old Toni, known as "Toni Goldwascher", is an outsider. He lives with his mother Maria in a disreputable house outside the community by the river. The son of a large farmer, Hans Beil, harasses him because he is after Gold Bay. Herbert, the mute Elfie and the chaplain are on his side, but when Toni actually finds gold, the situation comes to a head.

On a day in early summer, two young men play squash, a lifeguard watches an indoor pool, a young woman shelves books at a store, another stages a puppet show for children in a park, an older woman cooks, and Manon gets on her bicycle to ride to a rendezvous with her boyfriend. She turns a corner. Something happens. As she lies on the asphalt, a crowd gathers around her and an ambulance arrives; we hear her voice, first confused as to what has happened, then telling us how her friends and her mother will receive word, and how her friends will gather to talk. As images move back and forth in time, she remembers recent events and expresses some small regrets.

Like the proud Datu with many wives, Chris has Denver, a bronze skinned lover in Manila, who is proud of his relationships. Denver lives with Chris in an apartment as partners yet he still goes into sexual and emotional relationships with other men. A young woman works as a waitress in a diner.
