Apogee, Decline, the three phases of El andalus civilization, left their mark in the eastern muwashshah, Alfonso X’s cantigas of Santa Maria, in the Sephardic songs and the sanâa, the art of the nûba as it still exists around the Mediterranean. Dawn, Evening, Night inspires musicians and poets of the nuba imbued with the light of day, inhabited by human sentiments and temperaments, sustained by a public and artists who, from Tangiers to Tel Aviv, perform it in vibrant communion.

In exploring the lives of two wandering Nepali musicians, an uncle and nephew who share the same name and are featured in filmmaker Stephanie Spray's and Pacho Velez's acclaimed documentary Manakamana, Kāle and Kāle (pronounced kah-lay) exposes the rootless occupation of the Gaine caste and communicates both its joys and pitfalls - domestic, economic and spiritual - in their daily lives. Rejecting didacticism as a means of ethnographical observation, the film consists of distinct episodes that value the quality of the genuine moment. Spray couples both meaningful and disconcerting human interactions with the sights and sounds of natural familiarities such as grass, smoke, insects, animals, and traditional Nepalese folk music, opening up an evocative new world that the viewer is invited to slowly and deliberately experience.

Emergency Needs considers the 1968 Hough Riots and the Glenville Shootout in Cleveland, Ohio, and the response to the crisis, as observed in color footage from a local press conference by Mayor Carl B. Stokes. Stokes, the first Black mayor of a major American city, maintains calm and measured composure; his demeanor and words help diffuse an already incendiary situation. Actress Esosa Edosomwan, dressed in a suit and tie, delivers Stokes’ statements. The footage of Stokes and the filmed performance of Edosomwan are rendered in split screen and combined with footage and reportage from the streets.

Eliezer has recorded hundreds of tapes in which he tells Stefan about the events of the day, sings to him, and includes him in his thoughts and longings. However, for Stefan's family, the relationship between the two is not an amazing and harmonious love story.They describe Eliezer as someone who rapidly transformed from lover to servant, ready to endure humiliation and betrayal just so he could be near his lover. After Stefan's death, Eliezer Rath was forced to prove his love for his life-partner. He is confronted by Stefan's cohesive family who raise doubts and suspicions about Stefan's last days in light of the will he left behind.
