In this world of wonders there are still places that have not been smoothed over with the shallow surfaces of Western commercialism. This film is a personal Valentine to a life filled with amazing, exotic, beautiful and fearsome places for the world. The amazing thing is not just the visual demonstration of how fleeting life is, but a meditation on how the decisions that seem momentous on our time scale are flickering snapshots of life on this planet, too small to be observed by most. Somehow the music combined with technology becomes a personal experience that makes the earth and its inhabitants seem touchingly fragile and full of wonder...

A young woman, Anna, is getting ready to make her own movie. After a while, she discovers that she is just a heroine in the movie and nothing really depends on her. Rebellious against the author, she writes her own film, recreating the characters from scratch - but neither do her characters want to be heroes in someone else's film. The story of the heroine is intertwined with the story of a critic who "chased" writers all his life to finally find out that his efforts were pointless.

Speaking in Arabic and English, Soliman Al-Halawani, Dr. Mahmoud Hourani, Fouad Charida, Dib El Chami and Rafica El Chami Batach tell of their life in Palestine before 1948 and give eye-witness accounts of the tumultuous days of 'Al Nakba' (the catastrophe), May 15th, and its aftermath. As children and young adults, they and their families were among 750,000 Palestinians fleeing for their lives, as Zionist terror gangs began seizing villages to enlarge the recently created State of Israel. The stories told by these speakers are poignant, unexpected and sometimes surprising, expressing not only the tragedies but also the small miracles which occur in a human catastrophe of such dimensions. Prevented from returning to their homes, the speakers lived as refugees, eventually making their way to Australia. Their continued longing to see their homeland eloquently expresses the feelings of the dispossessed everywhere, and gives this film a universal dimension.

It is a film based on Scandinavian ballads, allegorically portraying the complex relationship between the two beginnings - Male and Female, Light and Darkness, Love and Death. The eternal dance of life embraces two main characters - the Girl and the Knight in various guises (a king, a jester) - the relationship between whom develops on two levels - realistic and symbolic. The visual approach based on medieval engravings, the Scandinavian tradition of wooden sculptures and ornaments as well as the colour scheme carry profound philosophical and symbolic meaning. The film is made in the technique of total animation.

Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and stretching 40 miles into the jungled interior, we kayaked and portaged more than 200 miles around the park's perimeter, seeing this wild country from a new and different perspective. Along the way we encountered river-swimming elephants, manatees, tarpon, surfing hippos, gorillas and more. By trip's end it was hard to decide which were the most beautiful, and the most difficult, parts of the expedition, but it was eye opening, for us all.

In 1970, after their wedding in Buenos Aires, Ron and Jacqueline set off for the Andes, with backpacks and still cameras. While crossing Bolivia, on their way to Cuzco, they discovered the city of Potosi. 29 years later, they return to the same places, this time with their three daughters and a Super 16 camera. A road movie, which is both a depiction in real time of Potosi and the Andes and a journey of introspection for the filmmaker and his family. Potosi, at an altitude of 4,100 metres, was once one of the largest and richest cities in the world. But for the millions of indigenous people who were forced to work in the depths of the mountain, Potosi was the gateway to Hell. After its silver mines were exhausted, Potosi was abandoned, poor and forgotten. As in his previous film, Fragments - Jerusalem, Ron Havilio also uses personal material to draw a portrait of an Israeli family on the road, the generation gap, and a meditation on the passage of time.

This is the story of how sex entered the world of pop and was played into our living rooms via the pop video. These videos totally altered our way of looking at sex - they brought taboo subjects such as S&M and bondage to teatime telly, they made homosexuality visible for the first time, and they brought sublimated desires, gay or straight, to the surface, altering the nation in a profound way. In the 80s, pop videos took Britain's virginity, dirtying the minds of a generation and so freeing us to become a more sexually adventurous and tolerant society. And it was all down to pop music.
