The interview turns into a long, clear-sighted and violent attack on society that accompanies photos of the set in a surprising juxtaposition of film and reality, revealing Pasolini's metaphorical portrait of modernity.

Prince – In Motion (2006) is an unofficial concert compilation DVD released in April 2006 in Europe, featuring a mix of live performances and music videos. The 79-minute set includes footage from Prince’s "Live at the Aladdin" concert, clips from the Purple Rain tour (including Syracuse performances), and rare music videos such as "Uptown", "Pop Life", "1999", and "Little Red Corvette" . The final track, "Shadows in the Dark", appears to be an instrumental jam from the Aladdin show. The DVD is formatted in PAL, with multicamera coverage, and fans report good audiovisual quality despite its unofficial status. Released at a price point of around €9.99, In Motion offers a compact overview of Prince’s mid-career live presence, blending well-known hits with obscure concert material not widely available in other formats.

The Morris Chronicle started out as a film to document a 93-year-old barbecue master--Morris Peeples--as he cooks a hog in the old fashioned way, the way that farmers in the Springfield community in South Carolina have long cooked in this Edisto River region in Barnwell County. This film opens with Morris setting aside a hog for a BBQ requested by an attorney in Barnwell, his attorney. As we move linearly through the cooking of the barbecue, we learn that Morris is supervisor and honorary member of a hunt club that in what Morris calls "the Big House" about 300 yards from his sharecropper house, where he lives with his 52 year old wife, Faye.

This astounding documentary delves into the mysteries of the Tunguska event – one of the largest cosmic disasters in the history of civilisation. At 7.15 am, on 30th June 1908, a giant fireball, as bright the sun, exploded in the sky over Tunguska in central Siberia. Its force was equivalent to twenty million tonnes of TNT, and a thousand times greater than that of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. An estimated sixty million trees were felled over an area of over two thousand square kilometres - an area over half the size of Rhode Island. If the explosion had occurred over London or Paris, hundreds of thousands of people would have been killed.

In conjunction with the 2nd anniversary of the Day Offcampaign, UNIFEM Film Series is proud to present No Day Off (2006) by Eric Khoo, a 45-minute short film chronicling four years in the life of Siti, a domestic worker in Singapore. Each year, thousands of women like Siti uproot themselves from their homes and families in impoverished villages in Java and Sumatra. They head for Singapore where they live the life of a foreign domestic worker, scrubbing, cooking and looking after children, the sick and the elderly. Their wages go towards making life more comfortable and less bleak for their own families back home.

A gentle giant lives in a small village and has a beautiful flower garden where the children of the town play. In the giant's house rests a small treasure box. Every so often, the giant, asks the children a riddle, "What do you think is the one thing that makes people so very special?" If one of the children answers correctly the giant's magic treasure box will open. As time goes on one of the giants favorite children, Hans, gives the box to a greedy wizard. The giant goes after the box and brings it back as Hans learns an important lesson which suddenly opens the box.

Over seven years, director Thomas Heise revisits five young actors from his 2007 Berlin staging of Heiner Müller’s “Anatomy Titus.” At irregular intervals, he asks them to film their everyday lives and articulate their hopes. The footage is deliberately fragmentary and non-linear: there is no smooth narrative or causal thread. Among them, 22-year-old Sven, whose apprenticeship, naval stint, dishonorable discharge, and failed relationships leave him convinced “nothing comes next”, becomes the focal point of this long-term observation. Invoking Müller’s own outsider declaration - “I am a Negro” - the film offers a stark, uncompromising portrait of aimless youth while Heise probes his role as documentarian.

Immune to the leveling pressures of show biz, Hugh Hopper, John Marshall, John Etheridge and Elton Dean -who passed away shortly after this last reunion at the New Morning - still mesmerize their fans. "Bs.As." is an experimental documentary film that reframes the history of immigration from Galicia (Spain) to Buenos Aires (Argentina). A Galician man's curiosity about his long-lost relatives who immigrated to Buenos Aires takes him on a surreal journey across times and space. Through travel, photographs, letters, and phone calls he explores the unpredictable ways in which immigration creates both bonds and distance between people and places. "Bs.As." received various awards including the Premio Foco Galicia (Tui, 2007).

The second part of Giovanna Gagliardo's documentary recounts forty years of Italian history, and more, through film footage and photos from the 1960s to the present day.

Speaking in Arabic and English, Soliman Al-Halawani, Dr. Mahmoud Hourani, Fouad Charida, Dib El Chami and Rafica El Chami Batach tell of their life in Palestine before 1948 and give eye-witness accounts of the tumultuous days of 'Al Nakba' (the catastrophe), May 15th, and its aftermath. As children and young adults, they and their families were among 750,000 Palestinians fleeing for their lives, as Zionist terror gangs began seizing villages to enlarge the recently created State of Israel. The stories told by these speakers are poignant, unexpected and sometimes surprising, expressing not only the tragedies but also the small miracles which occur in a human catastrophe of such dimensions. Prevented from returning to their homes, the speakers lived as refugees, eventually making their way to Australia. Their continued longing to see their homeland eloquently expresses the feelings of the dispossessed everywhere, and gives this film a universal dimension.
