10 short documentaries which form a presentation of Denmark as part of a dialogue project in the wake of the Muhammed drawings. 10 reputable Danish filmmakers are invited to create 10 presentations of Denmark, in collaboration with second-generation immigrants with roots in the Middle East. Each film is shaped as this person's personal application to a relative or acquaintance in the Middle East. The assignment is: Give an important statement about your Denmark, with the intention of challenging and differentiating the image your relative or acquaintance has of Denmark. The strength of the films is in insight and reflection, rather than the dramatic news approach and is communicated through the personal approach to the subject. The 10 films are joined together into one film (duration 58:30 mins), and this film will be a quick and intense contribution to the debate following the publication of the Muhammed drawings.

Charting certain stages in the relationship between Harris, a young man played by a series of different actors and Amber, a young woman played by Melissa Maureen Rizal, these very different short films work as a unified suite and eventually build up to a master narrative that unfolds fully in the moments of reflection after watching the entire 61 minutes. What does it mean to have a relationship with God? What does it look like? For a lot of us it's a hard thing to fully understand. If God is an infinite spirit with no shape or form, how can we possibly relate to that? And what about Jesus? He said he came to give everyone life in its fullest. He came to show us how to live. Maybe it's through trusting Jesus and living the kind of life he taught us to live—a life of truth, love, justice, compassion, forgiveness, and sacrifice—that we have a relationship with God. Maybe the way we live every day, every single choice we make, determines how in tune with God we are.

A cynical, quasi-misanthropic film which, despite its childish appearance, manages to enumerate and decline some of the bestial mythologico-historical collectivities which have emerged from the collective imagination: Collodi's donkeys, the rats of Hamelin, Circe's pigs, Panurge's sheep, Pavlov's dogs. Contemporary television resembles a gigantic farm; the lure of success and fame which it offers is analogous to Pinocchio's experience when he was assured that he would never have to work again (lifelong entertainment) - and was transformed into a donkey! Individuality does not exist; Don Quichotte is not alone in believing in windmills.

In this re-mastered lecture from 1989, Stuart Hall provides an extraordinarily clear summary of the origins of cultural studies. Hall discusses the founding of cultural studies at the University of Birmingham, the field's baseline concern with issues of symbolic representation and power, and how cultural studies ultimately gained an institutional foothold at the "frontiers of intellectual and academic life by testing the fine line between intellectual rigor and social relevance." An excellent introduction to Hall's work, and to the broader social, political, and economic concerns that have shaped cultural studies.
