Tierra negra is a global view, understanding different aspects (social, geographic, geological, human, etc.), the Laciana Mining Valley. However, accurate localization is only a reference element, to analyze and discover, in a scientific and poetic way, global mechanisms present in the life of every community. Or something so trivial and complex at once as what makes it possible that every time I push a switch the light turns on?

As a twelve-year-old boy, Nicola de Leo already knew she wanted to become a woman. Today, the now forty-year-old transsexual lives in Venice and has changed her name to Nicole. She has undergone a hormone treatment and grown breasts, but she still lives inside the body of a middle-aged man, including a penis, a beard and a substantial Adam's apple. This is why Nicole is applying for a sex change through official channels. 'I never thought it would be so hard. I thought making the decision was enough,' she says. During five tense years, Nicole fights her emotional and physical struggle in the presence of director Alberto Vendemmiati's camera. Working as an actress, a seller of carnival masks and a prostitute, she finances her cosmetic treatments and looks forward to the subsidised sex change operation. Meanwhile, she turns to her elderly mother for support, who has a hard time accepting that her son will soon be a daughter.

Just a good documentary, trying to prove about the interference of the USA, the World Bank, IMF,etc, in the economy and business of other countries. Filmed in locations around The Guarani aquifer, a big repository of water, able for supplying all the population of the planet for four hundred years, a resource under the see of foreign economies, and in ecologic danger. The Guarani aquifer is owned by Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay and Uruguay, witch's governments seems no to be interested. The movie reveals why the rumors of terrorism in in the south, in special the triple border is a fraud, and the only intention is to control the natural resources-water and biological-,installing military bases in the zone. It was made with interviews to scientist, politics and journalist, including Nobel Prize Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, some interviews in natural landscapes, near animals like the cayman, a kind of crocodile, and there is a comparison, in how the World Bank is a predator.

Abraham Wasserman, a Holocaust survivor who had lost his entire family in the camps, and who has since turned his back on God is an elderly farmer living in a small, rural community. Of his two daughters, one still lives with him whilst the other has become ultra-orthodox. The relationship with his immediate family is complex, as is the one with his grandchildren and the other locals in the community which, over the years, has grown increasingly religious. It is a drought year and Abraham, for whom working the field is his whole life, finds himself at a critical juncture: he stands to lose everything – his livelihood, his family; even his hatred of God which is keeping him alive. In this time of crisis, he is left with no choice but to seek out the same God whom he had forsaken; and pray.

In the late fifties Iceland was isolated and backwards. Industrialisation had really just begun and the country was taking it’s first steps towards the ultra-modern society we know today. The US military set up a base next to the sleepy fishing village of Keflavik on the south coast turning everything on it’s head. The Americans outnumbered the locals three to one. Culturally it was as if a UFO had landed. The young people were more open to cultural influences than the older generation and this triggered a rock and roll explosion which then swept the rest of the country. It was the birth of Icelandic teenage culture. Because of Iceland’s location right between America and Europe the cultural influences mixed to produce an unique blend.

Recorded in May 2005 in the Mossi village of Dabo, in northern Burkina Faso, the above video produced by the late Christopher Roy (1947-2019) documents the traditional way of smelting iron. We witness a group of smith elders making charcoal, digging and mining the ore and flux, building the kiln (with clay from a termite mound), firing the kiln, making sacrifices, smelting the iron, and forging the iron into tools. No iron had been smelted in the region for over 50 years, this video being a reenactment of the old ways – as they now buy their iron imported from China. It’s a fascinating documentary that can only enlarge your respect for the makers of the many traditional African iron tools and weapons we encounter in the West. And, you’ll see that ‘pumping iron’ has a meaning outside the gym as well!

In 2001 the law in the UK for gay porn changed forever. Up until then, the only porn gay men in the UK could enjoy would be illegal, bad quality material mainly from Europe and America. Even up until 2003 certain sexual acts were still illegal in gay porn, whilst their straight counterpart movies still enjoyed greater freedom in sexual expression. Now that has all changed and films can be produced and sold freely in the UK and a new industry is starting to emerge. "The Seven Secrets to Perfect Porn" follows the work of Max Lincoln, who took the opportunity to start his own movie company, Eurocreme, in the UK to make porn to challenge the American and European dominance of hardcore films.

Since PEAU D'ÂNE, cakes have become love potions. Today, to seduce your prince charming, no longer slip into your dough an ugly expensive ring that risks breaking your teeth, but a 100% natural ingredient that good friends can provide you for free... Here, finally revealed, the magical and extraordinary recipe from Madame Peau de Zob, an upstart peasant and bourgeoisie, who sings to us, with the banter of the 1930s, how to make a Cake with Cordom syrup... After OMELETTE and LES YEUX BROUILLÉS, Rémi Lange persists in his vein of culinary art with this three-minute clip which was originally commissioned by Alain Burosse for the 2005 Gay Night on Canal +. This little film was a great success during its screening as part of the 11th Paris Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
