A trio of short films commissioned to be shown to visitors entering the National Freedom Center in Cincinnati Ohio. Freedom and Unfreedom by Aleksandra Korejwo uses sand animation. Slavery by Caroline Leaf shows the hardship of the life of a house slave in the American South before the Civil War, telling the events in one day in her life. The Underground Railroad by Luc Perez is the final film in the trilogy.

This animated short is an ode to Louise, a fiercely independent 96-year old inspired by animator Anita Lebeau's grandmother. Speaking in her own voice, Louise takes us through a day in her busy life near the town of Bruxelles, in rural Manitoba. Between coping with garden gophers and reaching cupboards that have grown taller, Louise's plans sometimes miscarry, her sense of humour is foolproof.

They are surrounded by intangible, invisible angel-like dancing beings, who manipulate the gestures and actions of the colorful actors, sometimes tender, sometimes ill-intentioned. Each time they think they're safe, another catastrophe hits them, from an earthquake to a gas leak to being slaughtered by a hammer. Yet every time the chatty characters survive, as if something was still unfinished, their destiny unfulfilled. The drama is supported by the 14th century ars nova compositions interpreted live by the singers and musicians of Capilla Flamenca.

On a dark and lonely Texas road, a man and his wife pick up a lost young woman. They soon find out she's more than they bargained for as she reveals their sordid past and seeks a grizzly revenge.

"Replete with visual and audiovisual humor, these works not only celebrate the pleasures of perception, as well as physical spaces and spaces of the mind, but also remain ethereal and multi-faceted in their formal and perceptual attributes. The film appears like a ritual with splendids and crypteds psalms. The Great Master of Order (Marcel Mazé, new fetish actor after Aloual) seduces the young male prey with a running cinema projector which carves Murnau's Nosferatu extracts on their bodies.
