K (Désert) is the forth part of a series on Kabylia, including a documentary and a feature film. K (Désert) examines the fragmentation of a culture (Berber culture) through the Algerian desert populations by means of collage. Shot in 8mm and blown-up on 16mm film, the groundwork has been reworked by layers in the optical printer.

An Archeology Professor and antique collector, Laphin, goes trekking through a deep jungle to the Cambodian border to see an ancient palace with two guides. They see a crazy man who runs away when he sees them and drops a small wooden statue of monkey. They keep it. They travel on and come across a village whose inhabitants have all been violently killed by what seems to have been an animal. They leave the village and meet a starving man. They share their food with him and tell him about the statue and the village. He warns them that if they keep the statue which is of the legendary monkey monster named "Kong Koy" to cover it with a small holy cloth or face the "evil". He gives them the cloth and goes. They return home and the statue is stolen by one of the Professor's students, Joe. He removes the protective cloth and conjures up the monkey monster. When Joe, Laphin's daughter Yoyo (Rungnapa "Anny" Brooke, Sherry Ann) and all her friends have a graduation party the beast strikes.

He takes off with the first available ride by the side of the road, with 27 year-old russian Kirill in his van, heading back east from a european tour. With little reserve Wenzel confides his story to Kirill and in the course as easily gets invited to come along to Riga and to stay on at Kirill's place. "We have enough space." Georg Baselitz (born January 23, 1938) is a German painter who studied in the former East Germany, before moving to what was then the country of West Germany. Baselitz's style is interpreted by the Northern Americans as Neo-Expressionist, but from a European perspective, it is more seen as postmodern. His career was kick-started in the 1960s after police action against one of his paintings, (Die große Nacht im Eimer), because of its provocative, offending sexual nature. Baselitz is one of the world's best-selling living artists. He is a professor at the renowned Hochschule der Künste in Berlin.
