73-year-old Paula Gruber is a midwife of the old school. In her community near Mühldorf, she has helped deliver almost all of the village's residents, and she can still remember each of the approximately 6,000 births. For twenty years, she worked with her mother in her maternity home—mostly around the clock and without a day off. After her mother's death, she was one of the first to start performing home births in the early 1980s, initially for eco-warriors, anthroposophists, dropouts, and women's rights activists. Paula is still working today in her daughter's midwifery practice, which is now in its sixth generation of bringing future Obertaufkirchen residents into the world.

"The 'Musique Mémoires' collection was born from a heritage archiving campaign, intended to collect the testimony of composers, performers, conductors, and personalities from the world of music whose creations and actions have marked the musical life of the last sixty years. The aim of these lengthy interviews is to explore as fully as possible the musical journey of each artist: origins, training, influences, encounters, practice of the profession... Thus, a unique reference collection has been created, an invitation to revisit contemporary musical memory." (ina.fr)

Wilderness and Spirit: A Mountain Called Katahdin explores ways of thinking about the wilderness and how people from many walks of life, past to the present, have found spiritual solace and strength in this mountain called Katahdin. Wilderness and Spirit includes the first recorded footage of the Katahdin 100 Run of the Penobscot people, and the only footage of Earl Shaffer (the first person to ever complete an Applachian Trail Thru Hike) revisiting his historic climb up Katahdin on the 50th anniversary of his achievement. Huey's celebrated film brings together the writings of Henry David Thoreau, the paintings of Frederic Church and Marsden Hartley, interviews with Baxter State Park staff, Governor Baxter's descendants, Lost on a Mountain in Maine subject Donn Fendler, the stories, dances, and music of the Penobscot people, the recollections of Millinocket residents, and the hikers and climbers of Katahdin.

Two people are standing, shooting each other. They move around Central Park (New York), on opposite sidewalks, separated by the street. One has the park for background whereas the other slides in front of the buildings. Each moment of this journey is recorded from two opposite point of view. What units these points of view separates them, the frontier between internal territory and external territory is created.

On March 31, 2002, the filmmaker Samir Addallah joined Yasser Arafat's headquarters besieged by the Israeli army. He entered Moqata with a civilian mission for the protection of the Palestinian people and thought, like most of his companions, to make only a short stay of a few hours. But he stayed there for more than a month, until the siege was lifted, sharing with the close guard of the president of the Palestinian National Authority, 200 of his faithful and the members of the civilian mission, precarious living conditions, lack of food, electricity, the tension of explosions, intimidation from an unequal military and psychological face-to-face.

Opening with the harrowing 2000 press footage of Palestinian boy Mohamad al-Durra’s death in his father’s arms, Eliane Raheb’s film becomes both witness and participant. Her camera travels through Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, tracing the lives of countless “young Mohamads” - children forced to grow up too soon in a world shaped by the intifada. As the journey unfolds, the filmmaker’s quest becomes deeply personal, prompting her to reflect on her place within the Arab world and to question her relationship with Palestine.

Whoever does not yet know Gaetano Donizetti's Don Pasquale will learn to love it with this elegant and stylish production by Stefano Vizioli. Lovers of this opera will be enthralled by Eva Mei's high, clear voice as well as Alessandro Corbelli's and her touching performances. Gérard Korsten conducts the orchestra of the Teatro Lirico and proves that Donizetti's spritely music gives room for fascinating interpretations. The opera tells the story of an elderly dandy, who is thoroughly cured from his desire to get married and thus hands over his young lady to her actual lover a tale as old as comedy itself. Donizetti however, being the master of cryptic comedy, extends this traditional "buffa" subject matter to a character comedy. His characters are not merely archetypes; they develop their individual profile throughout the differentiated and diversified plot. This work shines with musical wit, expressed in numerous coloraturas, cavatinas and duets.

Experimental investigations and transformations of porn, including self as porn-mechanism. 'The Sexual Economy of Risk' partly visualizes reflections of Slavoj Zizek (from On Belief): '...the passage from animal copulation to properly human sexuality affects the human animal in such a way that it causes the human animal's radical self-withdrawal, so that the zero-level of human sexuality is not the 'straight' sexual intercourse, but the solitary act of masturbation sustained by fantasizing ---the passage from this self-immersion to involvement with an Other, to finding pleasure in the Other's body is by no means 'natural', it involved a series of traumatic cuts, leaps and inventive improvistaions...' -Slavoj Zizek.

Join Frank, Dino, Sammy, Joey and Peter in the "Rat Pack's Las Vegas." This unique program traces the history of the Rat Pack, beginning with Frank Sinatra's solo stint as a Vegas headliner when his movie and recording careers crumbled, to his famous "summits" with the rest of the pack at the fabled Sands "A Place in the Sun" Hotel, to the triumphant on-location filming of the Pack's "Ocean's 11" (which showcased as many stars as could make it to Vegas during the filming). The program features rare footage of the Pack in action at the Sands' Copa Room as well as rare stills of John F. Kennedy and other Kennedy Era luminaries. The program also offers frank discussions of the racism that dominated Las Vegas in the 1950's - and Frank Sinatra's heroic efforts to end it for his good friend Sammy Davis Jr.
