Cinematic Era: 1998 Vintage

A 45 minute film which contains live performances and clips of the band in various and random situations. It also contains clips of Ben Folds Five during the studio sessions for their then-upcoming album, The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner.

This historical drama addresses European immigration to the Americas (in this case to Buenos Aires, Argentina) during the last two decades of the 19th century. Among its main characters are a Spanish immigrant, a German one, and an established "Argentine." They compete for the affection of a more established female Spanish immigrant, now a successful businesswoman, albeit a prostitute.

It took place in Prague and the Tatra Mountains between 1926 and 1928 and was later described as one of the biggest, if not the biggest, cases the pre-Munich Republic had ever seen. Nevertheless, the police and judiciary at the time failed to clarify and close the case in such a way that it would not raise legitimate questions long after the trial had ended. Even though the court handed down its verdicts, the case remained open in a way, and this is also reflected in the script, which remained faithful to the facts in its basic outline," says screenwriter Václav Šašek, author of the two-part television production The Trial of the Martyn Murderers...

This film was made in 1998 and was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Exodus of the children from the Aegean part of Macedonia during the Greek Civil War. Using historical facts, archival material and actual film footage, the film tells the story of the genocide of the Macedonian people in this part of Macedonia. In the spring of 1948, over 28.000 Macedonian children left Greece and sought refuge across the border into the Vardar part of Macedonia and eventually into other countries such as Poland, Romania, Hungary and Czechoslovakia. The archival footage depicts the children leaving as well as showing film taken in both world wars.

They are afraid of him and try to get away from him. He apparently accepts this, but trails them without calling attention to himself. It is good that he does, for they soon run into real trouble, and then they find out that despite his frightening appearance, he means them well.
