The life as hippies around the USA and Europe has left its clear marks. However, it will soon prove to be difficult to lead the same lifestyle in Norway.

Profile of the American sculptor Claes Oldenburg. Although born in Sweden, he was brought up in the USA and moved to New York in the late 1950s. Contemporaries Jim Dine, Roy Lichtenstein and James Rosenquist reminisce about their experiences with the artist. Art dealer Arne Glimcher, museum director Tom Krens, and critic Hilton Kramer, among others, discuss with the writer Coosje van Bruggen, to whom the artist is married, the development of Oldenburg's career from the early cardboard and plaster pieces to the large-scale public works executed over the past twenty years. Oldenburg is filmed drawing in the couple's Manhattan studio, while van Bruggen and Oldenburg together retrace the conceptualisation of a recent urban project, the `Torn Notebook'. The latter part of the programme is devoted to the complex installation of the nine-metre long `Giant Soft Shuttlecock' in the Guggenheim Museum in New York in October 1995, for the exhibition entitled `Claes Oldenburg: An Anthology'.

One year after the slaughter, they find themselves trapped beween gangs of Rwandan war criminals in control of the refugee camps and their country's new masters, who show little interest in reconciliation. Sitting on a Volcano criticizes the international community, which continues to feed the killers in the refugee camps and refuses to acknowledge human rights violations in Rwanda.

Cat and Bird in Peace is a real-time recording of a cat and a bird sitting in a cage. Nothing happens, however...from time to time the bird looks to the left and then to the right, and the cat sometimes looks up. The animals seem to ignore one another. In contrast to what one would expect there is no element of suspense in this normally dangerous situation.

A woman is preyed upon by her own frenzy to monopolise. An urge to die infiltrates the carousel of her thoughts but she succeeds in harnessing the power of her emotions to achieve her ends.

Ignacy Szczepanski's documentary is a record of a lesson in jazz improvisation given to Polish trumpeter Piotr Bal by an accomplished musician and dean of the jazz faculty at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Khongchat (meaning "journey" in Manipuri) chronicles the life of a simple village dweller guy named Ta Tomba (Olen) who for the first time goes to Imphal city. After he lands a job as a helper in a family, Tomba not only faces the harsh class disparity but also loses his love interest.
