It’s Nino himself that reads his texts, devoting himself, body and voice, to the camera, in his house in the historic centre of Palermo. The virtuality of the electronic image underlines, solves and dissolves Nino’s figure, it goes in and out, shows what we can’t see and hides the perceptible, lets the word tell the story, easily and heart rending.

The film Kytka was made by René Slauka in the first half of the 1990s, along with other computer animations that he created independently or in collaboration with Věra Geislerová. Both were members of the Video Sector, founded by Radek Pilař. They participated in the first presentations of these video artists, as they called themselves. Slauka, like Věra Geislerová or another member of the Video Sector, Lucie Svobodová, saw new possibilities of visual expression in computer animation. Slauka, who focuses on recordings of everyday and even intimate situations in his photography, devoted his computer animation to simulating space and depicting everyday things as attributes of the material world.

What would make an ordinary woman kill her husband? This powerful documentary is about three battered women who, after years of violence, kill their abusers. These women killed when they felt they had no other options: the police and the courts did not protect them, and society failed to take them seriously. When Women Kill challenges the legal system to confront the systemic and widespread violence that men inflict daily on the home front.

This elegiac audio-visual poem narrates grief in esoteric vignettes, like lost reels from an occult early cinema. Inspired by and named after the final line in Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem Lament, white city mourns a personal loss during the AIDS pandemic. This grieving process takes on something more private and existential, across mysterious scenes in New York City and the Arizona desert.

Dead of Night is a mid-90’s SOV action-horror mini-series hailing from Spokane, WA, that frequently feels like David Lynch directing The X-Files, if David Lynch was a mall security guard. Created by two sci-fi/horror super fans (who at the time truly were coworkers doing overnight mall security), Wayne Spitzer and Andy Kumpon are Status and AK, enforcement officers for the mysterious Viktor Corporation. In their mission to monitor and protect their strange little town, they encounter interdimensional beings, lichters, basilisks, gelatinous spirit guides, flux cores, bad teenagers, badass women and mullet-bearing beefcakes. And they can shoot (and smoke) their way out of almost anything!

Animates the surreal "biomorphs" created by celebrity zoologist Desmond Morris in his paintings. Morris wrote in The Secret Surrealist: "My greatest desire is to jump through the frame of one of my paintings, like Alice through the looking-glass, and disappear forever into my surreal world." A clip from Hybrid Vigour appeared in the BBC2 Personal Passions Series II - Episode One: Desmond Morris - The Surrealist, 1999. Zoologist Morris is author of The Naked Ape and The Human Zoo, host of many TV specials, art curator, and a world-class surrealist painter since the time of the original Surrealist group. Paintings were redrawn in Animator Pro and transformed, with permission from Morris, from reproductions in the book "The Secret Surrealist."

This bright and comic tale is famed as the only play written by Shakespeare in which he is known to have appeared himself - playing Adam, the old retainer to the hero Orlando. The sunniest of his comedies, the play tells of a group of courtiers escaping to the Forest of Arden where they meet, philosophise and fall in love.

What did Monk Seongcheol leave for us? Numerous anecdotes left behind by monks such as Jangjwabulwa and Samcheonbae were talked about, and a large number of people flocked to Haeinsa Temple to see the sarira. What is the meaning of the thought of Ven. Seongcheol, who tried to set Buddhism right by valiantly and diligently saying that the middle should be moderate, to modern people? Learn about the pure life at Baekryeonam Hermitage, including the content and meaning of the Baekil Method, the spirit of not possessing anything, and the strict life that the Sangha University students were told not to sleep and study. The position of Venerable Seongcheol, who insisted that Buddhist purification should be done internally rather than externally, and introduces the process of systematizing Korean Buddhism.
