A surreal puppet animation about one day in the life of an old man. The story takes place in the house where the old man lives. When the old man gets out of the bath and goes down the spiral staircase, a young man in a bathrobe suddenly appears, ranting loudly about something. Surprised, the old man goes after him and finds the young man in the cellar struggling with another man. The man's head falls and rolls. From then on, a dizzying world of images unfolds in rapid succession, the space becomes cosmic, and various objects begin to float. As the artist himself says, "I created this work as a single image", and it is perhaps best to let the flow of images unfold in front of you, rather than trying to read some kind of narrative. The dolls are grotesquely detailed, the sets like works of art. The props and objects have a natural texture. It is a work of such a high standard that anyone who hears that it took three years to make will nod their head in agreement.

Mercury poisoning led to high occurrences of Minamata disease, a neurological syndrome that causes severe physical and psychological ailments and death. He invites Shekharan to visit the family. Shekharan goes with the old man and visits his distant cousins who are all well placed and affluent. Shekharan learns that the boons of the family are from the spiritual accomplishments of the great great grandfather. Shekharan returns home and loses interest in his job. He gets on to spirituality. Builds a small temple and starts worshipping the great grandfather. An irresponsible husband and father he turns to be, his wife is forced to take to farming to feed the family.

Pelléas et Mélisande (Pelléas and Mélisande) is an opera in five acts with music by Claude Debussy. The French libretto was adapted from Maurice Maeterlinck's Symbolist play Pelléas et Mélisande. It premiered at the Opéra-Comique in Paris on 30 April 1902 with Jean Périer as Pelléas and Mary Garden as Mélisande in a performance conducted by André Messager, who was instrumental in getting the Opéra-Comique to stage the work. The only opera Debussy ever completed, it is considered a landmark in 20th-century music.

Edith is the first of the film's protagonists to lose her job. She helped bring about the changes and left the SED, the GDR's ruling party, in September 1989. The three women agree that things could not continue as they were. Although they were all members of the SED and the upheavals hit them hard. Edith is in her mid-30s, as is "Stubsi," alias Elsbeth. Elsbeth is one of a group of 17 out of 80 workers who are allowed to keep their jobs. For now. Renate is laid off shortly after her 50th birthday and after 36 years of working in textile production. One of her daughters moved to the West before the end of the GDR. A good decision, Renate thinks.

This is a story of two teenage love birds, who defied parental counsel and chose to live their lives as they saw fit. It is a story of youthful exuberance and experimentation with adult lifestyle between young people that ends them in trouble.
