MAQUETTE is an excursion into the world of dance and other cultural activities in Toulon: “There is a film that I didn’t complete. I shot it in Châteauvallon with a dance group called Artefact. A rough cut of it exists entitled MAQUETTE, but that’s all I did with it.”

The hidden life of a big city conceals secrets such as Satanic masses, snake worshipers, massage parlors, women's lingerie direct sales, the therapeutic pyramid, extra-terrestrial visits, chiromancy, and strange cults: all these phenomena attract the filmmaker's attention. Exotic dancers are given top billing in this exploration of drug addicts, prostitutes and protagonists engaging in various unusual underground activities in Montreal and surrounding area.

Boston (Michael McNeill) seems to have his romantic wires crossed, because he is forever winding up with screwy women, and the girl of his dreams won't even look at him. In this independently made romantic drama, the young man turns to women who are as needy as he is, and wonders why he does so. Eventually, he discovers that the women in his life are like that because he himself is. Even his dream girl has problems of her own, as he discovers before the end of the film.

The 1990 Monte-Carlo Rally was the start of a fresh bid by Japanese giants Toyota, Mazda and Mitsubishi to topple the dominant Lancias in the World Rally Championship. Experience the incredible action and intense battle for victory as the best drivers fight for supremacy. Incredible camera angles capture the awesome action from this spectacular battle, while fascinating interviews with the stars take you behind the scenes.

Round 9 of the world rally series took place in Australia. The entry list for drivers read like a 'Who's Who' in the rally world and included Carlos Sainz (Toyota Celica GT-Four), Alex Fiori (Lancia Delta Integrale 16v), Mikael Ericsson (Toyota Celica GT-Four), Didier Auriol (Lancia Delta Integrale 16v), Kiyoshi Inoue (Mitsubishi Galant VR-4), "Possum" Bourn (Subaru Legacy 4WD Turbo) and Juha Kankkunen (Lancia Delta Integrale 16v). The stages were varied and presented a unique challenge which led to near desperate measures, including some inspired tyre-cutting by Michelin and Pirelli. Certainly one of the best rounds in the series and this excellent video is a worthy buy.

The term "white noise" describes the technical application of a certain quality of background noise obtained by emitting constant energy to different sound frequencies. This effectively "cancels out" the frequencies and the equivalent of "silence" is produced. Les Bruits blancs centres on a dual polarity: the Parisian periphery - the perimiter boulevard of Paris - its urban landscape, and the flux of a water current - the St. Laurent seaway which circles Montreal.

In 1964, Jan Spáta created his documentary called Nejvetsí prání (1964), an enquette about the desires of the young generation. It was a time of political liberalization in Czechoslovakia and thus also a time of beautiful visons and desires. In 1969, the film was banned. Jan Spata came back to his "Greatest Wish" in 1990 and created a feature documentary comparing that period with the 1989 events. He even found some people interviewed in 1964 and asked them to speak again, now being 25 years older.

Documentary made in Santiago Centro. At the beginning, a subject is presented talking to people in the middle of the street. Next, an approach to the street artists is carried out, accompanying the images with shots of passers-by. The images and interviews of these subjects of various ages are shown, who explain the reasons for their processes and provide clues about the various types of street art that are carried out in the Center of Santiago. The edition exhibits records of artistic products and, at the same time, exhibits the conditions of precarious and daily work with which they have earned a living in a society in crisis.

Ramakrishna: A Documentary serves equally well as the perfect introduction to this remarkable saint or as a fresh and enhanced experience of his presence. This skillful assemblage of rare images of Ramakrishna, combined with a 1928 motion picture and a 1936 audio recording of some of his disciples, is surely as close as we will get to seeing him. --- Better World Magazine

Selection of transmissions from the eponymous pirate TV that operated in Rio de Janeiro between 1987 and 1990. Sequences captured from regular open television programming and other products from the audiovisual industry are arranged in an anarchic way, with new sounds created by the group, and edited together with testimonials despised by passers-by in the Rio de Janeiro capital. Irreverent document of the time, it reminds us of the popular frustration generated by the end of the process of "slow, gradual and safe" political "distension" proposed by the status quo from the 1970s in Brazil, by revealing the abyss between the image of past society by the big broadcasters and the perception of the people on the streets.

Andrews asks us to form a mental picture of our birth, while text onscreen "aids" us in this process.

We learn about the man and his work as we follow him and his fellow scientists from their camp on an uninhabited jungle island in Indonesia, to the top of the mountains and the bottom of the sea.

The film is about various kinds of winter sports in Iceland jeep excursions, mountain skiing, cross-country skiing, ice climbing and many other exciting winter sports that are attended in Iceland.

A story about a widow

Are college students today apathetic and self-centered? Twenty years after National Guardsmen opened fire on student antiwar demonstrators, Jim Klein, a 60's radical-turned-filmmaker (Union Maids, Seeing Red) visits the campus of Kent State to probe behind the stereotypes. Together with young patrons of the local tanning salon, activists-turned-professors, and an ROTC captain, Klein ponders the social forces that are changing campuses and the country in the 90's.

The Exxon Valdez disaster left far more than a soiled coastline in its wake. Grief, suspicion, anger and greed oozed through the small, formerly pristine town of Valdez. The human toll of an environmental nightmare is evoked in a haunting film which Exxon and the City of Valdez attempted, unsuccessfully, to suppress.

The object of the film is to apprehend the rite as a mode of seeing. The images of the film try to update the spirits summoned by a berdache. As an elementary figure, the berdache is close to nature and all its components. As a gay man, I'm interested in the relationship between sexual identity, spirituality and creativity. It is in this spirit that I made this film.
