Three women. A loss in each case. Three different situations. The words the same each time. The meaning changes subtly with each interpretation. Todd makes the same use of repetition to great effect in the earlier film Out (1990) in which three women each present the same soliloquy to camera, addressing an absent loved one with some anger and regret. The film goes beyond a lesson in acting style and interpretation to become a moving expression of feeling in the aftermath of death from the point of view of one left behind. Each woman recites her lines of grief in a different setting: from behind an ironing board in an apartment block, in a chair by a window, or in a dim interior of an office over-shadowed by looming office block outside.

Documentary about Helge Andersson. 85-year-old Helge became something of a TV idol after the program "Helge och hans värld" which was broadcast on TV2 in 1988. At that time Helge lived in his very primitive cabin outside Borås. Nowadays, Helge lives in a serviced house where he has found himself well at home, despite his more than fifty years of living alone. Mats Segerblom has now met a "new" Helge - with flashbacks to his old life.

ADDED LESSONS is an absurdist fever dream that follows young Francis (Liam Hayes) as he's bounced between maternal demands, burgeoning sexual desires, the church, and pretensions of the art world. Filled with painted sets, symbolic gestures, and a who's who of Chicago's performance art scene of the late 1980s, ADDED LESSONS is decidedly non-naturalistic, instead referencing 1920s surrealist and expressionist silent films for its cinematic visual language.

Although constructed from thousands of still images of Chicago, ENDLESS maintains a complex relationship to the photographic image. Time and space seem to compress or implode into a contradictory experience - one which is fluid, yet static, sculptural, yet two-dimensional, of the present yet of the past. The images are layered vertically, 'endless' variations of time and space unable to be contained within the fixed boundaries of the film frame.

Euphronios is one of the rare Greek vase painters whose name has come down to us. An exceptional artist, he stopped painting at the height of his career to devote himself to making the vases he had once decorated. He was one of the main contributors to a major transformation that took place at the time: the transition from black-figure to red-figure painting. By comparing them with the known works of the painter, Alain Jaubert reconstructs his career and analyzes his pictorial style.

A bit disregarded by the historians, the painter Edouard Vuillard is now finding a place of very first plan in the history of modern art. This film is more particularly interested in Jardins Publics, a serie of nine panels painted in 1874. Five panels are today in Orsay Museum, three others are exhibited somewhere else and the ninth disappeared. Under the apparent simplicity of the themes - women and children in a large park- there is a multitude of historical, technical and plastical riddles. Video tools permit to elucidate a few ones and even to recompose in its colours the panel disappeared during the second world war. And the deciphering of a Vuillard painting drag the spectator into a curious bouncing adventure...
