The folks who populate the rundown hotel in this story have all come there from someplace which offered a modicum of hope. Gloria, who runs the place, earns most of her money as a stripper. She lives there with her two daughters and a son with an untreated brain tumor. Charlie, who is forever in and out of jail, is Gloria's sometime lover. A recent check-in is there hoping she can work up the courage to commit suicide, since her rich doctor husband ran off and left her. Another resident is Tim, who keeps company with his dog and his booze in equal measure. A schoolteacher comes by from time to time, hoping to do these people some good, but in choosing this lot to work with, she proves to be just as much of a loser as the rest of them.

The title Dal polo all'equatore was first used by the pioneering documentary maker, Luca Comerio, for a compilation film of 1925; it was used again by Yervant Gianikian and Angela Ricci Lucchi for their film of 1985. Much of the original has been re-worked: the 'found footage' has been re-shot, slowed down, tinted, and re-edited with a sound track of minimalist composition. As a result, the exotica of colonial travel and sport take on new and sinister meanings. The acts of violence, especially those of hunting, recur in patterns that suggest visually that war is a logical development. A close examination of the work, starting with the opening sequence of a railway journey, explores the centrality of questions of memory and history to this remarkable and influential film.

All what happens within this yard may become an allegory of one generation's destiny.

Rajesh (Nagarjuna) is a racy youngster who falls in love with Alekhya (Rajani). Things go well when Rajesh and Alekhya plan to get married and it is when a root of suspicion lands in Rajesh’s mind through a friend. The suspicion is something about the character of Alekhya and when Rajesh enquires about it, the latter gets furious. She questions Rajesh asking how can he suspect her by believing a friend’s word and also comes to a conclusion that his love is not worth of accepting. The impulsive natured Rajesh also finds her questioning arrogant and the couple breaks up. But the real trouble starts for Rajesh after Alekhya leaves him and he starts feeling sorry for his impulsive nature. Alekhya marries another guy (Sudhakar) shown by her parents and Rajesh is distraught. The rest of the story is about what would happen to Rajesh and whether Alekhya forgives him or not.

The movie portrays the social stigma for widows in the late 17th century that was prevalent in India. The plot line runs through many layers of complications both in Devika's personal life and her place in society, as she fights with her family, quarrels and distances herself from Kishore, marries another man under social pressures and much more. The movie makes the point that instead of behaving like meek sheep under social influences, we must understand every individual's perspective from our own point of view. The movie ends on a happy note where Kishore and Devika both stand against the blind and illogical superstitious mentality and are finally reunited.

He views tales of decadence and horror, containing killer scarecrows, monster birds, and cannibal spaghetti farm owners!

Widow Sugita moves into a second-hand house and starts living alone. However, when she sees a bill brought by the electricity company's bill collector, she becomes suspicious that the electricity bill is too much higher than that of her previous house. The widow persistently complains to the bill collector and the power company, and is annoyed. The widow hears a bad rumor about the couple next door from the fishmonger's wife, and notices that the electricity meter is still running even though all the cords for the appliances are unplugged. She complains to the power company that the electricity is being stolen from the neighbor's house, and an investigation is finally launched with heavy machinery. The workers find a branched cord in the ceiling. After breaking a wall along the cord and tearing up the floor, they find the cord buried in the earth under the floor. A refrigerator is dug out from under the floor.

Marta is now an expert in antiques, and Magdalena, to her horror, the body of a young man from an antique shop. In addition to the swindles - exchanging for imitations - the group is preparing to steal a valuable painting from a museum. Its employee Boženka is supposed to exchange it for a copy. In the middle of the action, a gas explosion occurs in the museum, and our women come to the bodies. It takes them quite a while to realize that they have fallen into their clutches...

Armed with his condition of brilliant amateur, Ács creates a portrait of life in Bucharest in the summer of 1987. A raw product of intimacy revealed in which the personal and the social are inseparable. The drought in the country at the time is represented by the particular way the characters portrayed devise to go to the bathroom.
