Television concert documentary from the San Remo Festival (Club Tenco), Teatro Ariston. San Remo/ Italy. November 22, 1986. With Greg Cohen on upright bass. Aired on Italian television by RAI DUE. Rebroadcast in 1988.
After the death of the director of the Polish company "Gont", the competition for his position begins. It is attended by the chief accountant Joachim Mackiewicz. However, the fight for the director's chair is skilfully manipulated by a certain Szczurowski. Mackiewicz, who wants to remain honest at all costs, quickly becomes his victim. At the same time, serious problems arise in Joachim's life.
Mysterious cinematographic events unfold in a very neat little space, like a theatre. A ball gets bigger and bigger and then suddenly disappears: there’s a dog a good head or two taller than a child; a young woman miniscule one second is huge the next… We don’t get it, but just enjoy taking part in a phantasmagorical experience like an audience in the early days of cinema, with filmmakers that have made an illusion out of this art.
This documentary includes performances of legendary jazz trumpeter Chet Baker joined by Michel Graillier and Red Mitchell on piano and Jean-Louis Rassinfosse on bass. Also, an interview with Baker is included.

Films with a work theme, which still proclaimed that work should be the first need of man, underwent only a gradual development. The clash of stagnant, fearful thinking with innovative methods, albeit in a significantly modified form, is nevertheless preserved. In this case, we find ourselves in a machine tool factory, where manual labor is to be replaced by robotic equipment. This provides a rare chance to see this forgotten film, which the audience completely ignored - at the time of its creation, it was seen by about a thousand people.

The village women of Mambai in Bali, Indonesia collect sand and stone from the river. Each woman sells what she has gathered for construction material. But the river is more than a place to work. It is a place to bathe, wash clothes, laugh and tell stories. "Fossil" is a collaborative performance piece crated by David Bronstein, Debbie Crowell, Ed Mitchell, Lynne Sachs, and Gede Tjok. The dance evolved through discussion and movement exercises as a collective response to the images from Mambai. This project was supported by an artist-in-residence grant from Downtown Community Television (New York, NY).

A key aspect of Red Shift is the reading of selections from Calamity Jane's "Diaries," the most narrative aspect of the film. The Diaries are read against activities seen through a window, life passing by (people walking in winter, a river flowing). They tell how Jane lost her daughter and had to survive by using her talents to act like a tough and physically competitive man...

Who Takes the Rap – Immigration covers the history of immigration law in Britain from 1903 to 1986. The film describes how different groups of immigrants arrived for work in the UK, only to find increasingly restrictive laws, which kept them in low-paid, unskilled work and identified them as ‘undesirable.’ Footage of the Garners’ Steak House strike and the Grunwick strike is included to show how these workers fought back against racism. Specific laws are examined, and the film includes interviews with a number of immigrant women. The voices of two female rappers provide commentary throughout.

A scientist couple from the U. S. comes to live in the house. The spirits start making trouble for them so the couple asks a powerful Buddhist monk to help them. The Buddhist monk talks with the spirits and finds out their demands. The couple ends up moving elsewhere.
