Cinematic Era: 1985 Vintage

A brief history of the emergence and artistic innovations of tango in 19th-century Argentina and Europe. The film offers a mosaic of tango melodies, art works, dance performances, historical footage, photographs of Buenos Aires at the turn of the 20th century, and texts by Celedonio Flores and Enrique Santos Discépolo.

Ship "Saturn" prepares to return home from the American west coast. The ship is damaged at a very bad time, when a severe storm comes their way, they loose propulsion. The currents are pulling them towards a rocky island and they must try the impossible to save themselves.

The film continues the outrageous antics of its eccentric patrons and staff, blending slapstick humor, misadventures, and love triangles. As the bar faces more outrageous situations, the characters find themselves in increasingly absurd and funny circumstances, maintaining the lively spirit of the previous films in the series.

The work that i made whilst at college had an end result being film / video art. This was where the combination of many disciplines, for me, became one , from the initial drafting of ideas - making things - environments - creating an atmosphere with paint and light, developing a story board or event, then filming it with out of date super 8 film, editing and inventing a soundtrack. all fine under the cozy umbrella of youth, and blind collaboration with the many talented friends around. These films by hook or by crook, mainly by crook, were made into a video collection of work, released by ikon / factory records in 1985 titled "Flickering Shadows".

On the evidence of "Dances Sacred and Profane," Mark and Dan Jury's documentary about Mr. Gatewood, he is drawn particularly to Mardi Gras revels, gatherings of nudists and sex clubs. Bare breasts, elaborately tattooed bodies and bizarre behavior are featured in his work, and in the movie. Addressing those who may find his subject matter "revolting and disgusting," Mr. Gatewood asserts that it "tells us something about ourselves." He sees "important statements being made there," about "liberation through excess" and "some kind of actualization of transcendence."

With top-name models like Carol Alt and Kelly Emberg, as well as the designer clothes they wear, this docudrama about the hardships of jet lag as the women travel from Rome, to Paris, to New York, to London is at least visually, if not mentally or emotionally engaging.

In 1985, Bo Diddley put together a band that included Ron Wood, John Mayall, Mick Fleetwood, Kenny Jones, Carmine Appice, John Lodge, Ronnie Lane, Carl Wilson, and members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Chicago, Quiet Riot, and Three Dog Night. Now the mercs must dig in for their lives against a Red Guard commander who just doesn't relent.

This documentary focuses on the careers of influential partners in trash film, John Waters and Divine. The film includes interviews with Waters' parents and sister, actress Edith Massey sings two songs (Punks, Get off the Grass and Fever), as well as a live performance of Divine performing his song Born to be Cheap.

The dream, which filled half of her life, was no longer enough for Maryvonne. She leaves her husband, child, lover and leaves for Paimpol. And there, it's a breath of fresh air in the form of real life, reality finally joins the dream.
