Scratch Free State has great energy and straddles an interesting line between a popular culture and fine art sensibility. This piece was made at the same time as Tilt. It is probably the best example of what an artist can do re-cutting and processing David Attenborough's Life On Earth programmes.

This is one of the summer camp productions created through a unique experiment: a shared premise “when an unseen ‘oni’ appears, people begin to disappear” was adapted and filmed separately by each group. Among them, this version is a solid, classic mystery that stays closest to the original concept. It is the first directorial work by newcomer Kazuki Yoshimura, and it leaves a lingering sense of unease long after viewing.

The camera becomes an extension of body and spirit—a literal and symbolic “third eye” that sees beyond ordinary vision. The film plays like an adrenaline rush: it breaks free from the steering wheel, spirals wildly around a speeding car, captures watercolor-like pastel light, and ultimately returns to its point of origin.

Steeped in black humor, this concise political critique is Acconci's contribution to artist Jenny Holzer's collaborative Sign on a Truck project, which was presented on a Diamond Vision Screen in New York in response to Ronald Reagan's re-election campaign in 1984. Acconci portrays Reagan as a ventriloquist's dummy, a two-dimensional puppet's head that is a mouthpiece for the ideology of the Right. Smiling like a TV evangelist or the host of a children's TV show, the Reagan puppet intones a litany of "Family Values" that is at once comic and chilling.

Although Ivan Tatíček's Metrofilm was inspired by period video clips from Austrian television, it is not a musical in the true sense of the word. In the film, a pair of allegorical figures of disorientation and order (David Pacholík and Ivana Málková) navigate the metro spaces in repetitive movements and confront a system of rules, procedures and geometric order. It authentically illustrates the period atmosphere of personal choice between social resignation, tacticianism in public space or the search for inner freedom, which could be provided by relatively free movement in a parallel world.
