In the tragic autumn of 1944, the possibility of liberation from the war and the chains of the German alliance flashes before our eyes. Lacking leadership, in the first few hours people cannot yet know that their hopes are dashed, and they prepare the country not for celebration, but for burial. Some of the soldiers defect to the advancing Soviet forces, while others reload their weapons. A small group chooses a third path: they flee the front and try to fight their way home through adventurous journeys and encounters.

Our old friends Bence the Great Hunter, Andris, aka Mr. Doolittle, the Painter and then Bonca the Bird appear in this film. But then Nora appears and everything goes haywire. The film follows Nora and her mum as they become "Bonca".

The action of the movie unfolds on two levels. On the one hand, the shepherds, displaced by the abuses of the Habsburg powers, are living in "the country". Here they run into other troubles, with the demands of the Phanariot authorities. At the same time, the action unfolds in the village deserted by people and flocks, left at home and obsessed with getting rich, Pastor Nicolae Branga gives in to the temptations of the Viennese domination and, betraying his fellow countrymen, becomes mayor. He gets rich "overnight", playing into the hands of potentates on both sides of the border. In need of wool and meat, the emperors hatch a devious plan. Promising him the title of "nemes" (lord), they corrupt Branga and, with worthless documents, try to persuade the villagers to return to their homes, and then declare them "serfs", seizing all their wealth.

The frequent use of long, light moving shots and the unearthly reticence of the characters gives the film a strange flavour.

A group of residents of a small Armenian town in the 20s, whose destiny reflects the history of the people like a drop in water.

Looks at Southall, one of the major Asians centres in Britain, and shows how this community organised to resist fascist attacks from 1976 to 1981. Southall's militancy goes back to the community organisations of the 1950's which were created to help black workers combat racism at the workplace and deal with discrimination in the community. As racism increased, the community has fashioned and forged new weapons of struggle.

Filmed for UK TV channel CH4. Brian McCaffrey a retired prize fighter running a cafe called ‘Brian’s’ in Liverpool, is interviewed, as well as other colourful characters, customers at the cafe'. Brian's, in the city centre on Stanley Street, hosted night gigs. Liverpool post-punk band Echo & the Bunnymen, which used to visit regularly, feature in some jams in between the interviews. In later years the cafe would become the location for the band to announce their return

A haunting theatrical memory play in which actors and their mannequin doubles reenact five episodes, from a wedding to a last supper, set in the claustrophobic room of the director’s own childhood village of Wielopole. LIVE; THEATERSEIZOEN '82/'84: 'Urbanus Live' werd in opdracht van Urbanus Nederland opgenomen tijdens twee uitverkochte voorstellingen in de Agnietenhof van Tiel op 4 en 5 februari 1983. Deze opnamen werden samengevat voor televisie en uitgezonden door de Vara in 1983 en in 1984. Dit is de volledige, ongeknipte versie van deze twee succesvolle uitzendingen via Vara en tevens een aardige weergave van het theaterseizoen 1982-1983 in Nederland en 1983-1984 in België. IN 'T ECHT: Deze theatershow van Urbanus was een ware triomf in de Belgische- en Nederlandse theaters, waarbij records sneuvelden wat bezoekersaantallen betreft. In Nederland werden ruim 200 voorstellingen gegeven, waarvan drie shows in Carré in Amsterdam. Geen enkele buitenlandse artiest deed hem dit na. In Vlaanderen was het niet anders. In alle grote theaters vonden meer dan twee voorstellingen plaats en Antwerpen leverde een record op van meer dan 15.000 bezoekers.

In The Box Theory, Owen Land, the uncanny American structuralist, king of the absurd and a religious addict, recreates the image of the Indian girl, holding the butter box with the image of herself, to produce an ad-eternal video zoom. This operation generates a vertiginous and hypnotic mise-en-abyme centered on the female body. This moving mantra raises the figure of the girl to the status of medieval icon – Our Lady of the O – a fertility goddess from the prodigious and polysemic land Of Land.

"Shot in Madrid, in a carnival. The subject of the film is suggested by the spanish title. From "roda", I kept 2 connected meanings : the circular motion and movie shooting. As for "Morfosis", it is linked to the idea of metamorphosis. With the whole word, I wanted to suggest a metamorphosis of reality (places and characters) in a motion where everything is going round circles : what is on camera, camera itself and film inside."
