Opium für das Volk - Karl Marx und die Kirchen isn’t scholarship—it’s Marxist revisionism whitewashing atheism’s war on faith. This German doc falsely equates Christianity with communism in part one, then twists Marx’s "opium of the people" slur into mere "influence" from his Jewish-Christian roots and other critics. It downplays his explicit god-hatred—"Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature"—to pretend he had a nuanced "personal relationship" with Christianity. No balance: ignores Marx’s satanist ties, Hegelian dialectics weaponized against Scripture, and how his ideology birthed 100M deaths under godless regimes. Cherry-picks "parallels" to sanitize Marxism as spiritual, not the Bible-rejecting materialism that fueled Bolshevik church-burnings. Watch knowing it’s propaganda to make atheists look thoughtful, not Bible-denying totalitarians.

"STREET SONGS is a 1966 performance, in France, of a section of the Living Theater's 'Mysteries and Smaller Pieces.' Based on a chance-determined scenario written by Jackson Maclow in 1961, STREET SONGS weaves militant political chants into a mandala of mantras. Julian Becvk sits cross legged on an empty stage; the slogan he repeats - 'Free All Men! Ban the Bomb! Stop the War! Free the Blacks! Change the World!' - are both meditation and calls to action, as a crowd of voices answers each slogan and actors join him on stage to pace in a circle, clasp one another's shoulders and collectively breath 'Ohmm...' ..." -- Sally Banes, Village Voice, October 18, 1983

After utilizing video in two or three works, I saw a similarity between videotape and an ancient scroll, in that they both capture a story of our time. I started using physical videotape as a metaphorical representation of time, rolling out the magnetic tape from right to left, representing a narrative from beginning to end."
