Cinematic Era: 1983 Vintage

The vogue for video wills being all the rage in the United States, the 'I Am' team asked celebrated personalities and anonymous viewers to make their video wills, each reacting according to their temperament.

Four persons, each of whom represents a particular aspect of a dependent society, hide in a villa located in the north of Iran. They are all involved in Operation Eagle Claw waiting to see its success. When the operations fails, their relations change. The one who is a symbol of a system viewpoint based on the domination of world powers, kills all his friends, and at last he encounters the youngest member of the group who has found out about his true nature and is killed by him; but before he dies, he kills this young man too.

Love and friendship, lies and betrayal - comedies often deal with existential themes. But not always. Sometimes everyday life is enough to pick up an audience and entertain them. The audience suddenly sees themselves as experts who can give an informed opinion on what is happening on stage: In the case of "Pantoffelheld" from 1983, it was probably primarily housewives, ironing men were rather the exception back then. Among them was the newly minted househusband Daniel, who struggles with an ironing board and creased jeans. Paul Bühlmann as his buddy Georges does a much more confident job.

Emotions and feelings should not be confused with sentimentality. Emotion is ancient and more powerful than any artistic expression. The film observes young couples facing difficulties while trying to move their love experiences towards clear decision making. It is here that Prem will be confronted by Bhavna on one hand, his children on the other, and a blackmailer who wants a huge sum of money to keep the truth about Sneh and Prem's affair from Bhavna and the children.
