The young part-time student Boris Kulikov, upon arriving in the village of Kardymovka, learns that Buneev, the pier chief who lived there until his death, was his father. Interested in his father’s past, Boris discovers that Buneev once gave up his career as an architect after his bridge design was rejected. Boris strives to prove that his father’s ideas were innovative and valuable.

Prima Rock is an Argentine documentary film filmed in Eastmancolor directed by Osvaldo Andéchaga on his own script written in collaboration with Mauricio Belek that premiered on December 2, 1982. Partial documentary of the Prima Rock festival, which took place in Ezeiza on September 20 and 21, 1981.

Varble spent the last five years of his life working on an epic, unfinished performance-turned-video titled Journey to the Sun (1978-1983). Only partially complete and under constant revision, this complex work combined Varble’s history of making costumes for performances, with his fantastic stories involving metamorphosis and martyrdom. In 1982, Varble decided to make a “prelude” to Journey to the Sun, combining existing footage with new video taken in Riverside Park in New York City. This self-contained video differs greatly from the bulk of Journey to the Sun, in that it is not constructed around the main narrative, but rather is composed of prefatory remarks and extended footage of outdoor scenes, and contains no dialogue. The main aim of this prelude was to provide a key to some of the main sources for Varble’s thought — actress Greta Garbo, spiritual leader George Gurdjieff, and founder of the Subud movement Muhammad "Pak" Subuh.

The film is based on a quote by the Danish poet Sören Kierkegaard - "Get married and you regret it. Don't get married, you'll regret it too. Marry or not marry, you will regret both?" Two people are in a crisis in their relationship and meet again in their rented summer cottage.

Its production seems like a game: throwing a Super 8 camera, turned on and recording, from what was, at that time, the tallest building in Caracas. The film films the shots of its own accelerated fall, a succession of chromatic shots that cannot be identified either in terms of what is “recorded” in each one (windows, columns, walls, sky or floor) or in its own formal configuration as an image (color, composition, shapes or figures). What is perceived and apprehended is the impotence of vision – of perception – to distinguish this extreme and exhausting mobility, this vertigo of “free fall.”

But the young engineer loves Jamila and does not even think about another girl. By chance, having learned about the mutual love of Azim and Jamila, Salia experiences great grief, it seems to her that everyone has betrayed her and she is left alone again...

THE WINTER THERE WAS VERY LITTLE SNOW is a visual mood poem using the barest narrative form to convey the feeling and time of crisis for a man in middle age. His marriage has collapsed; he is without a job; and his father has just died. There is no reality, only an indistinguishable mixture of images and moments drawn from some space in time that could be his past, his present, or his future.

Typically controversial speech by psychoanalyst/philosopher Lacan is disrupted by a student, ridiculing such public intellectuals. An investigation of Leni Riefenstahl’s infamous film production of “Tiefland” during the Holocaust, one which used Sinti extras under forced labor conditions. After filming finished in 1944, these extras were sent to Auschwitz. Nina Gladitz interviews the survivors and perpetrators, wondering if Riefenstahl knew this would happen at the end of production. Tiefland was filmed from 1940-1944 but was not released until 1954. Leni Riefenstahl sued Gladitz over the documentary.

Following a brief historical introduction, we get to see an impressive gallery of Ukrainians of different professions – from a farmer to a spacecraft engineer – speaking out about their life experience, their roots, and their take on self-identification. Among the personalities featured in the film, there are famous artists, such as Jacques Hnizdovsky, and a celebrated American actor of Ukrainian decent Jack Palance, who is also narrating the picture.
