This film deals straightforwardly with the consequences of a nuclear attack for the Canadian Prairies. The Prairies are singled out because of their proximity to huge stockpiles of intercontinental ballistic missiles located in North Dakota. Scenes include a visit to a missile base and to an emergency government bunker in Manitoba. A doctor, a farmer and a civil defence coordinator provide different perspectives on nuclear war. Although the film focuses on one region, it provides a model for people everywhere who would like to know more about their own situation but don't know what questions to ask.

A film-opera divided into nine segments, Au pays de Zom tells a day in the life of Mister Zom, a capitalist infatuated with his own person, whose conformism is only matched by his artistic velleity. A thematic sequel to his movie filmed with Mexican peasants, here Groulx asks, by making a business man sing, a second question on happiness: this time about the ones for whom happiness is linked with the possession of overabundance. He delivers, by developing the theatrical dimension with great emphasis, a social pamphlet with a strong satirical charge that he himself qualified as a "neo-surrealist fantasy".

For Bonnie. This story, dedicated to the daughter of Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara, shows regret for lost paradises. While the sentimental arranges that everything seems perfect and immutable, the romantic knows that passions never last. A man finds 15 years later, a woman he had loved. They try the space of an evening to find the lost emotions. But life is cruel and strangely repetitive, and memory fails. Looking for yesterday's dreams, they will awaken the pain.

a fictional autobiography in which a day from the artist’s life—filtered, edited, mediated, and performed by another actor—becomes the “ghost” of the person, a doubled identity that can never fully capture its subject. The work also conjures the spectral presence of a long-gone New York City, an uncanny body-double on the verge of austerity and collapse.
