New Wave Hairstylist Atila Sikora is interviewed and performs a haircut live on TV, transforming the host into a New Wave Look. The crew visits Atila's salon and a New Wave clothing store, interviewing members of the scene about the aesthetic and its differences from punk. Argenis Ledesma, a Metropolitan Police officer, has been imprisoned for murdering three young men who were allegedly having an intimate relationship with his wife. Ledesma himself, and various personalities closely involved in the events, describe the circumstances of the crime. The film narrates the police corruption that led to the censorship of the documentary and the imprisonment of its director.

Utlänningen is a typical exponent of independent, exile and migrant filmmaking. It contains documentary footage from both Finland and Turkey and depicts the situation of the forced migrant: to be placed in-between two countries and two different socio-political situations; between the on-going political struggle in a remote Turkey and the current situation in a foreign Finland. Özer acts the leading part in the film.

A man and a woman awake in the middle of the night. The woman is upset by her dreams and what she perceives as the untouchable nature of her mind, unlike the physical nature of her body. The man recounts the story of his youth – when he was not allowed to go out to play, his mind would go outside instead. An elliptical series of scenes unfold as though in the mind of the man – an encounter with an epileptic, a prostitute, and a demented therapist - all somehow address the mind/body schism. A school film written and completed in two weeks, incorporating preliminary image manipulation techniques via the use of contact printing and Mettler’s first use of sound montage in a musical sense.

In this groundbreaking and rare account of the 1980 Notting Hill Carnival, the filmmakers weave together a range of performances from reggae bands Aswad, Sons of Jah and Brimstone, amongst many others. Interspersed between them are interviews with the artists about their lyrics and music, and conversations with audience members about their lives and experiences. The result is a powerful documentary of the Black community in Ladbroke Grove at the beginning of the 1980s.

The comedian reminisces about nit nurses, husbands, debt, and growing up poor on the West End streets of Newcastle in a Tyne Tees TV documentary, which captures the impeccable timing of her stand-up comedy at working men's clubs that could make or break stars in the past. This documentary was broadcast on the 12th March 1981, as part of the Tyne Tees Television Northern Scene series.

Kotobuki-cho is a section of Yokohama whose residents consist of about 4500 single men, 300 women and 180 children. The day laborers living there have no secure social standing, but they do have one thing: pride in their daily work routine.
