The film is dedicated to the boys who grew up during the war. The main characters are the milkmaid Bahar and the village postman Merdan. They are not even nine years old, but they know that every day they live and every good deed they do brings them closer to Victory Day and the day their fathers return.

Frankie Beverly takes seminal soul band Maze through its paces in this compilation culled from 12 shows the group performed at New Orleans's famous Saenger Theatre. The guys have the folks from the Big Easy on their feet as they funk their way through classics like "Back in Stride," "We Are One," "Never Let You Down," "Joy and Pain," "Happy Feelin's," "Southern Girl" and more.

Vivienne Dick's first film after the New York series takes her back to her native Ireland. Using Super-8 film as a parody of the 'travelogue' or home-movie style film, Dick takes a expatriate, tourist look at her homeland. The narrative follows Margaret Ann Irinsky as the American tourist trekking from a Dublin populated by Hare Krishnas and rock music, to the horse-drawn carriages in the west of Ireland and the kissing of the Blarney stone. The quaint perception of Ireland and the Americanization of the native culture are contrasted with interviews from sectarian prisoners and footage of political marches. As in all her work, Dick uses a mixture of verité shots which capture the essence of the locality and intersperses them with images which have a totally different feel. This method is used to highlight issues in a subtle way wherein the camera takes an active rather than a voyeuristic role.

Priya is romance based movie in which, the story revolves around radhika, who is only daughter of a rich industrialist. Chandramohan who is unemployed for long time gets into a small fight with radhika and later she selects him as general manager of her company. Chandramohan develops love towards her and expresses it and when both are in love, her father doesn’t like it and seperate them by creating a misunderstanding between them. Her father plans to get her married with Chiranjeevi, who is also rich but later she realises that he’s a sad love story behind him.

Yet again, a bear and a rat are out to make a lot of money - this time with art. During a tour of investigation, they find a corpse in a gallery and, hoping it will prove to be a means of access to the worlds of culture, action and finance, they take it along with them. However the desired effect is not forthcoming and they become involved in questions and observations on the subject of art and crime. The rat tries to solve the case himself; to him there is no distinction between artist and detective. After a narrow escape from a murder attempt, the two animals join forces once again and, now sadder and wiser, they resolve to improve - something that appears to be far from easy. But at the depths of despair they discover a system of order in the chaos of the world, which encourages them to venture into the area of philosophy. From here, they proceed into undreamed-of insights and flights of fancy.

Artist David Hammons discusses the role of chance and improvisation in his work while working on sculpture on a waste site while N’Senga Nengudi talks about staging her performances in freeway underpasses. Spanning performance to spoken word, environmental sculpture to music each artist talks about how ritual and cultural traditions informs their work. This experimental essay intercuts interviews, documentation and photographs with the music of Don Cherry seeking to adjust the criteria and language used to talk about artists of colour.

A landscape that has been filmed once is projected onto a screen and then filmed again. The re-shot screen changes with the sound of quick beats. An unremarkable local landscape. Roads stretching through rice paddies, clusters of telephone poles, wooden houses with large eaves. These landscapes are transformed into a blur of memory for the purpose of reshooting. The electrically produced noise-like acoustics and the sound of beating quislings beat the landscape out of the memory circuits of the brain. For a moment, a girl stands in front of a screen of landscape, and the landscape rotates around her. The whole work is more than an idea, including the composition in which the synthesis of a kind of screen process brings about change.

During his period working in Taiwan, Christopher Doyle made this experimental short film documenting the families of friends around him. This film received an Honorable Mention at the 4th Golden Harvest Awards (1981).

Open air theatre production about the Paris commune

Simon Simpson runs an entertainment agency in Liverpool. At one of his regular auditions in The Bootle Railway Club he sees an aggressive young man fresh from the dole queue who dreams of becoming a professional comedian. Simpson believes the boy has talent and starts to groom him for 'stardom'.

The company, headed by an American director and staffed by the Japanese, has raised the business of fast-food retailing to an art. A rich man, Tuan Syed hides all his business records in a safe to avoid paying taxes. Three thieves, Aziz Satar, Ibrahim Pendek and Sudin steal the records and a fez to get back at Tuan Syed who rejected their job applications on the excuse that they are too old. Tuan Syed dare not report the theft fearing his secret will come out. So he hires private investigators Badul, Raja Ismail, Aznah and Jastina to find the thieves.

Rob Van Eyck’s De Terugtocht (1981) is a bleak, unforgiving slice of Flemish cult cinema. The gritty revenge thriller follows a man returning to his hostile native village after serving seven years for a rape and murder he did not commit. Instead of a fresh start, he faces brutal social isolation and relentless torment from the locals. Driven to the edge, his quest to find the real killers spins out of control, trapping him in a tragic, inescapable cycle of violence.

One day while travelling on the BEST bus in Bombay, Raja produces a 100 rupee note to buy a 50 paisa bus ticket, and is made fun of by the bus conductor, and asked to leave the bus. Asha, who is travelling on the same bus, pays for his fare, and he tells her that he will re-pay this loan after he gets some change. He does not get the change, and instead loses the 100 rupee note, but makes his way into Asha's heart. Both fall in love, and get married. They live in harmony for several years, and become proud parents of two children. With their growing family, Raja's income is just not enough to make ends, and Asha decides to get a job. Raja decides to stay at home and look after the household chores, and the kids. What happens is that there is chaos at work for Asha, and at home for Raja, with alround hilarious results.
