Soon-cheol, a freshman, enters the philosophy department at the beginning of the new school year, so he becomes familiar with Bangtae. Soon-cheol earns a living on the salary of his widower, a former railroad driver, and his younger sister, Soon-i. At the festival, Byeong-tae finished last in a physical beauty contest and was always a low-ranking hitter. Kook-jeong, a baseball player, hit a refreshing home run with the last draw and enlisted in the military. Han Fen Sun-cheol's father was hit by a diesel train and died. After returning from his funeral, Soon-cheol tells his friends that he was a fake college student. Soon-chul can't give up on his sister's dream of having a college student brother, so it's a fake. He had become a college student. Friends do not believe Sun-chul's words and tell him to keep his promise to represent the philosophy department in the school marathon. Soon-cheol and Byeong-tae are the last in the marathon, but they run the full course with death.

Two students who were thrown together into the parts of Romeo and Juliet at their school festival, gradualy fall in love despite their differing expectations for the future.

Documentary reminiscence of the late jazz bandleader Duke Ellington. Shot in 1968, this footage includes the previously unreleased "Mexican Suite" plus all the Ellington classics including "Satin Doll," "Mood Indigo," "Black and Tan Fantasy," and "Take the A Train" plus interviews with band members, film sequences which featured Ellington and his band and other exclusive footage.

House is the story of a house in West-Jerusalem: abandoned during the 1948 war by its owner, a Palestinian doctor; requisitioned by the Israeli government as "vacant'; rented to Jewish Algerian immigrants in 1956; purchased by a university professor who undertakes its transformation into a patrician villa... The building site is like a theatre in which the former inhabitants, the neighbours, the workers, the builder and the new owner all appear. Israeli television censured the film. "Gitai wants this house to be both a symbol and something very concrete; he wants it to become a character in a film. He achieves one of the most beautiful things a camera can register 'live', as it were; people who look at the same thing but see different things - and who are moved by that vision. In this crumbling shell of a house, real hallucinations begin to take shape. The film's central idea is simple and the film has simply the force of that idea, no more, no less."

A film photographed in Amsterdam but dedicated to capturing a quality of mind engendered there - not, certainly, alienation (as often in travel) but rather some heightened sense of being other.

What is America to her? Idemitsu, who lived in America for eight years, looks introspectively at herself and her strange connection with America.

Amid poverty, conflict, and small glimmers of hope, filmmakers Andreas Jacobsen and Hinrich C.G. Westphal follow a young pastor couple through their daily lives in St. Pauli. Through intimate glimpses of home visits, youth ministry, and private moments, they paint a multifaceted portrait of a neighborhood that explores whether faith can still provide a sense of stability here.

Animated short film from Elpidio Valdés' series. Coronel Elpidio Valdés and a few oh his men try to escape from a spanish cañonera, leaded by Don Cetáceo.

Little Katrinchen the hen is looking for a nesting place. She escapes an encounter with a fox unscathed by convincing him she's still too thin. A little dog helps her find a safe hiding place. Once the chicks have hatched, the fox reappears. This time, the little hens, with long red rushes in their beaks, chase him away, pretending to be fox-eaters. The chicken thief is finally driven off by the little dog, who proudly displays the fox's tail as a trophy of victory.

Stingy land was shot on the territory of the Čitluk municipality. It speaks about preparation of the karst terrain and planting of the famous Brotnjo stone vineyards in Blizanci that were planted from 1981 till 1984. Indigenous Herzegovinian ganga song can be heard in this film.

Cha made Exilèe ("exiled" in French) following her first trip back to Korea in 1979. For this simultaneous film and video installation, she embedded a television monitor into a freestanding wall and projected a Super 8 film onto its surface, superimposing the two forms of moving image. In the accompanying audio soundtrack, Cha reflected on the distance traveled from San Francisco to Korea as measured in passing minutes and the sixteen hours that separate the time zones between California and the country of her birth.

Film made through the xerographic process (xerofilme), opening a new field for cartoon and experimental cinema. The film is the xero/graphic recording where the artist burned various materials over a copy machine´s surface and then filmed, frame by frame (or scene by scene), the result of the experiment.

The film travels through the urban canyons, parking decks and rooftops of New York, where choreographer Yoshiko Chuma and actor John Nesci explore the textures and architecture of the city through engagement with movement and objects. Finally, the journey leads to the natural landscape of Maine where Jacob Burckhardt’s camera captures the movements of leaves, water, light, and a raft floating in the fog.

The film accompanies Linda and Gallier in their everyday lives and gives them space for self-representation: at school, at the family table, at the disco, or in conversations with friends. The racism of the majority society, the pressure to assimilate, and the counterarguments of the two young people and their community members are omnipresent. The parents and grandparents are survivors. Linda summarizes that experiences of persecution and oppression have shaped the strong sense of belonging among the Sinti.

The videos No.1, Lover Man, 90 Grad in Berlin, Party and No.5 (1977) were filmed from a monitor in 16mm in 1980 and fused together into a single film: "Marktstr! 1A." Although nothing was altered in the videos—nothing added or omitted—a new work emerged. The medial transformation of individual videos into a coherent 16mm film creates a qualitatively different art object in terms of temporal, material, and perspectival perception. (Uta Brandes 1984)

The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota is home to the Lakota Tribe. In 1980, we visited the historical area of Wounded Knee with a 16mm camera and some film.
