Our story is set in the small village of Frankenstein, in the German region of Pfalz. A hapless young man runs out of gas, which unfortunate accident leads him to the heart of this village. Is it the late hour, between the dog and wolf, or his arrival which is the cause of the strange events in which he is to participate? The fact remains that it is thanks to the benevolence of a young and pretty woman that he succeeds in the early morning to leave the accursed place. Nevertheless, since his short stay in the village of Frankenstein, not a soul has seen the young man again.

After the success of Tuyul, the same main cast returned for this first sequel. Sol Soleh wanders into a cave filled with small statues of tuyuls (childlike ghost similar to goblin or imp) and brings two home. One of them, the humble Darto, comes to life and makes Soleh rich overnight. Things get out of control soon after Darto requests a companion and then a female tuyul.

Made in collaboration with performer Yolanda Vidato, Water Ritual #1 examines Black women’s ongoing struggle for spiritual and psychological space through improvisational, symbolic acts. Shot in 16mm black-and-white, the film was made in an area of Watts that had been cleared to make way for the I-105 freeway, but ultimately abandoned. Though the film is set in contemporary L.A., at first sight, Milanda and her environs (burnt-out houses overgrown with weeds) might seem to be located in Africa or the Caribbean, or at some time in the past. Structured as an Africanist ritual for Barbara McCullough’s “participant-viewers,” the film addresses how conditions of poverty, exploitation and anger render the Los Angeles landscape not as the fabled promised land for Black migrants, but as both cause and emblem of Black desolation. Abducted, presumed dead, young Pratap survives in an ashram, learns various arts of worship and weaponry, rescues and then falls in love with Kalingnagar's Rajkumari Malti, and wants to wed her. When he visits the region, he finds that many others who had attempted to wed her, had failed due to stringent conditions set forth by her dad, Bhujang Verma, and are languishing in prison. It is then he finds out his parents, who had been duped out of their palace by Bhujang and Rajguru, are alive, blind, imprisoned and tortured regularly, and sets forth to restore their kingdom to them. In order to do this, he must bring back a Mani that is located in a secret cave, guarded by snakes, protect himself from flesh-eating and shape-changing demoness', pygmies, and other challenges, while the wily Rajguru abducts Malti as well as his parents, and intends to hold them hostage until the Mani is turned over to him.

The story of Tony (Rudy Fernandez) is not only a reminder to actors or actresses, but to everyone. It teaches a lesson about humility and the so-called "debt of gratitude."
