She works in a school (washing cloths there) but when they find about her relationship with Siamak, they fire her. Gandom has heart problems and should go to Europe to meet the right treatments. Siamak wants to send her there but to collect enough money he begins do illegals.

Mosha Michael's third film follows six Inuit hunters from Frobisher Bay, N.W.T. setting out on a spring whale hunt. Once again, Michael documents the process on Super 8 film, from pushing the canoes out over the thin spring ice to open water, to the killing and cleaning of the whale and storing the meat. An original score features music and songs in Inuktitut by the filmmaker himself.

The annual New Year’s Eve Concert is one of the highlights in the calendar of every classical music fan in Berlin and beyond. On New Year‘s Eve, the Berliner Philharmoniker invite an exceptional soloist for a festive gala. Together, the musicians bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new. The 1977 concert was conducted by Herbert von Karajan and featured Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 and the Chor der Deutschen Oper Berlin.

It's a perfectly ordinary day in Rita's life: early in the morning her lover from last night left the apartment, and Rita doesn't dare to go back to work after she stole money in the telephone cabin the day before.

A television experiment, filmed with the first portable video recorders, in the Ligurian community of Carloforte, on the island of San Pietro: for two months, the small crew lived in close contact with the people and their daily lives. They created a collective portrait, featuring former ore carriers, seafarers, salt workers, fishermen, tuna fishermen, industrial workers in the Sulcis area, young men and women from the nautical and teaching sectors, and the women, "white widows," wives of sailors, entrusted with raising their children. Three years later, in light of the changes, that first portrait—comprising life, work, feelings, and hopes, past and present—was shown to the islanders in the streets, squares, workplaces, and schools. Reactions and comments were filmed and incorporated into the final edit, which showcases the process and working method. Video is used as a means of recognition, identity, participation, and horizontal dialogue, a pioneering "street television."

Morteza is a young man who has evaded military service many times and his term of service has been extended. He escapes from service again and goes to his hometown Anzali, and after learning about the problem of Nayyer, he persuades her to have an abortion.

Analogies: Studies in the Movement of Time uses a variety of multiple screen formats to create an intriguing series of visual riddles. The film consists of a series of simple camera movements that are rendered "diachronically"- several different aspects of the action are presented on the screen at once. By playing with time delays between these images, new kinds of space, action, gesture, and temporality have been found. Generated from structural principles, the film is both lyrical and sensual and provokes a new understanding of time and cinema.

This work carefully traces the illustrations and looks at the joys of the lives of the common people of Edo.

The drama narrates the events that occurred in October 1926 , when there was the last attack on Benito Mussolini . The film, without ever mentioning the names of the real protagonists of the story (the attacker was the sixteen-year-old Anteo Zamboni , who died on 31 October 1926 after having shot at the Duce, only touching his clothes, stabbed to death and then hanged by fascists of the militia), narrates the events that led to that last attack, then taken as a pretext for the acceleration of the approval of the special law establishing the special tribunal for the defense of the State, the restoration of the death penalty for the crimes of attack on state institutions, and the outlawing of opposition parties with the arrest of their respective militants and leaders.

The film explores the phenomenon of when two things are perceived at the same time – as when two images combine in a double exposure. There is an ambiguity in their hierarchy. They might be perceived apart, joined together, one after the other, or one dominates the other out completely. This ‘relationship’ is what I am intuitively exploring. Two sisters, Camille and Madeleine, make up the story of a woman: Alice Constant, the servant of their grandfather who committed suicide at the age of 25.

A monkey man is terrorizing a village. First, he's likely behind the disappearance of eight fighters who once controlled the village. Country/blues chanteuse Bonnie Raitt first appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1977, singing tracks from her then-latest album, "Sweet Forgiveness." This video features 11 songs from that watershed show, including "Good Enough," "Walk Out the Front Door," "Under the Falling Sky," "Women Be Wise," "Sugar Mama," "Runaway" and "Nothing Seems to Matter." Also included are four songs from a 1991 performance by Raitt.

The rise and fall of a revolutionary cooperative movement established in a large private farm in Ribatejo, Portugal, from March to December 1975 (most part of the land occupations occurred in Alentejo, promoted by the communist party). In direct speech, sometimes to the camera, sometimes among themselves, the uneducated rural workers expose their misery, their suffering, their hopes, and ultimately their despair - when a socialist government orders the restitution of the land to their primitive owners, and these transform the land into a hunting reserve.

At the Kuntul Putih School of martial arts, the teacher Sekarwangi receives a telegram that his ex-student, Anom Subali, is robbing people. So Ateng and Iskak, students of Sekarwangi who have just graduated, are told to go and defeat Anom’s group. Ateng is given a magical weapon (a cloth belt) while Iskak is also given a weapon (a flute). So Ateng and Iskak face many battles against Anom’s men. A love story is also woven in as a subplot. The comedy is mixed with action as it uses a martial arts story as a background.

The Komló settlement was a typical example of how Roma labour was exploited in the 1970s industrial mass production. This collaboration of Roma pupils and their teachers portrays the children’s everyday lives through their own drawings, often translating cruel facts into fairytales.

As the time to retire comes, Abdurahman, a department employee who is honest, diligent and down-to-earth, has prepared himself. He manages to finish a university degree, with which he is sure that he can live his retirement period in peace with his six children. What happens is the opposite; he cannot get a new job. Susana, one of his daughters, becomes a prostitute. His wife, Ina in an effort to get money, is seduced by her own stepfather and is then caught in the act by her mother. On top of these troubles, his other daughter, Aminah, returns from abroad before finishing her studies because she is pregnant and is going through a mental breakdown. Corruption and the social depravity that it causes is the film’s theme.

Emshwiller writes that Sur Faces is a "stylized collaborative videotape in which actors working with (the artist) explore sexual politics as expressed in styles of drama from Shakespeare to 19th-century social theater, early 20th-century Freudian work, and contemporary fictional autobiographical improvisation. A video collage juxtaposing different ways of using video to express psychological states and conflict." In a synthesis of densely processed, textural images with documentations of dramatic role-playing from sources as varied as Richard III, Strindberg, and the Open Theater, Emshwiller undertakes an inventive inquiry into the transformation and representation of male/female relationships, via video and theater.

Clara, a polish born Jew, living in Tel Aviv of the 1970's, has her ideas about how people should behave, and runs everybody's life accordingly: her husband, her sisters, their husbands, their children, her brother who lives in London (probably because it was the only way to get away from her...). Whenever something "improper" does happen, Clara's way of handling it is simply to shove it under the carpet and ignore it completely, as if it never happened. 3 basic rules, are, of course: 1. Never marry some one "under" your class (Or the class you think you are). 2. Never become pregnant out of wedlock and 3. No Abortions. As one may expect, everything crumbles when her niece gives her no option, but to break at least one of those rules

The Milewskis are a middle-aged couple. Witold and Magda, both occupied with careers in managerial positions, create a solid, well-matched relationship. They have no children - this is Magda's decision, who preferred to pursue a career rather than take care of diapers. However, little remains of the bond they had at the beginning. Each Sunday, each of them cheats on their partner, and they both know nothing about it. Everything changes when Witold's younger brother Franek, a handsome geologist, shows up at their place.
