At the Jakarta Fair, there is a rumour that a major tycoon from Makassar will come looking for new machines and a business partner. There is a flurry of excitement as everyone tries to get the tycoon’s employees to drop by their stands. Mansur, one of business owners in the fair, asks his secretary, Sinta, to find Andi Rachmat Syah, the tycoon. Sinta then approaches Andi, a handsome man employed by the tycoon, to find out about his boss. The man promises to tell Sinta on one condition, that she has to take him around the fair. Samiaji, Mansur’s business competitor, who has a crush on Sinta, is jealous when he finds out about it. Till the end of the story, nobody knows that Andi takes Sinta home after nights of going around the Jakarta Fair.

The works of Azerbaijani composers are performed by M. Magomaev, R. Beyrutov, Z. Khanlarova, O. Agaev, F. Kerimova, P. Bül-Bül-oglu, the vocal quartet "Gaya," and the instrumental quartet conducted by R. Babaev. The concert also features the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Azerbaijan SSR and ballet artists R. Akhundov and V. Pletnev with a number from K. Karaev's ballet "Seven Beauties."

By carving wood to shape these figures, the imaginary artists, artisans who make images of typical characters from the traditional Northeast, perpetuate a tradition that has changed over time. The motif of having people slowly approach the camera first appears in Nude Descending the Stairs, an interesting minimalist work made up of three single-take, single-angle black and white silent rolls during each of which one person - in one instance, Huot dressed in a white painter's jumpsuit; in the others, a naked woman (Marie Antoinette) - slowly descends a four storey staircase toward the camera. Because of the camera's upward angle, the descents are translated into level forward motions during which the two people grow larger with each step they take. The film's concern with the manipulation of space and with the details of human motion through it, accounts for both the title and the inscription 'for Duchamp and Muybridge.
